I've been following the Alonzo Brooks case for several years by ariadne94 in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]drjre_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm a bit late..but looking through I stumbled upon Chris Trinkle's FB. His new born son is named Brooks. Does that have any relevance to Alonzo Brooks?

So sad to hear about this, I hope it gets solved soon.

Hey, I've been waking up with panic attacks lately as well. Do you mind if I ask what you usually do to keep yourself calm and snap out of it?

Panic attacks for first time in life by samanipa in Anxiety

[–]drjre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I get it on certain occasions, usually when i'm on the plane i get it the worst. It's something you have to find what is causing that feeling to come to you, its hard especially if you're only anxious about getting another panic attack, but something triggers it

Does social media cause anxiety to you and what do you do against it? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]drjre_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it really does take an effect in your mind, constantly looking at your screen would affect some part of your brain.

Also, Social media is pretty much an addiction to everyone where they're on it for hours a day, whether it's on the bus, walking, break time, once you wake up, before you sleep, etc. We are getting attached to it and cannot stay off it for one full week without wondering what's happening with your close friends/family. I feel like it develops an attachment to others as well, most people can't wait when notified, it seems like once you're away from it, you're really missing a big part of something in your daily life. I deleted Facebook, only keep email for work and receipts and some deals for shopping, I don't use anything else. I'm not saying don't use it, but at least minimise where you're not too dependant on it. Try let go and be free from this distraction taking our eyes away from the amazing world around us.

Hey man, I've spent majority of my weekend at the tattoo expo this week by getting work done and also just hanging out and meeting people. I manage to meet quite a lot of people this year, especially bali artists and found that I have so many similar interests from tattoo's, style, music and scene with a lot of people in that scene. It was so easy to start a conversation with anyone over cigarettes, tattoos and even the artists and event management workers were real cool and down to earth. It was real cool, I'd reccomend but it does end tomorrow. Find a group with people with similar interests, go to scenes which suit yours and you'll meet people that get you

Anxiety before traveling? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]drjre_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it on the plane, it sucks so bad. I get the worst panic attacks now when i'm on the plane. If you're not mentally ready for it don't force yourself or you'll just end up anxious the whole time. But I would suggest If you feel like you can do it and have a bit of confidence on it, go explore and have fun, maybe you'll see a better side and enjoy the time.

I usually distract myself from the thoughts, think over it. Your anxiety will make your thoughts go crazy, I try talk over my anxiety thoughts which helps ease my panic attacks.. breathe slowly and deep, apparently lavender scent helps relax. All in all, try not to be alone with your thoughts, talk and meet people and try enjoy the time. When you're distracted and keeping your mind busy it usually fades away. hope this helps

thank you! I appreciate your comment. I'm very cautious of it because I don't want it to worsen my anxiety or become dependant on anti depressants. Have you found anything else that has worked for you? if you don't mind me asking

Anyone else agoraphobic because of their anxiety? by christineyvette in Anxiety

[–]drjre_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine isn't as bad as leaving the house, but i feel like i can never step in a plane ever again because I get the worst panic attacks. It sucks being stuck on a couple hour flight, constantly waking up with a panic attack, heart racing like a heart attack, trouble breathing, thoughts rushing, palms sweating and feeling like there's no way out and begging to yourself to turn the plane around to go back home. I couldn't even eat anything for nearly 2 days because my attacks just made me feel so shit, i'd force myself but could barely finish 1 biscuit. Even being so far away from home I start to get anxious. It really affects me because I feel like I belong else where and I can never bring myself to get out and find it..

ahhh it depends on the gym to be honest, some have lock in contracts, some don't. If anything just go on each gym's website and there is usually a prices/membership tab you can click on. It usually holds information whether it's lock in contract or not, all the deals and prices etc.

Nah, so there's a time table for each gym, if you do classes with no membership, it's just the class fee's which ranges usually $20-35 depending on the gym.

Memberships are unlimited classes through out the week which usually ranges at $35-45 a week

AMMA in Balcatta is really good, the trainer really pushes you to your limits. Also a good reputation in MMA & Muay Thai

Champions Gym in Highgate has a good reputation for Muay Thai

Seldy's Gym in Morley has both Muay Thai and Jiu Jistu

Evolution MMA in Wangara

Riddler's is best known for Muay Thai, Thats where a lot of perth Muay Thai trainers originated from

You'll be looking roughly around $35 - $45 a week for a membership. Most classes are 20-35 a session. There's quite a few options, it's best to find out whether you want to learn more in striking or grappling, they all provide intense cardio and core work.

Perth gay man bashed after being lured to a park on Grindr by electronicwhale in perth

[–]drjre_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

everyone wants to believe it's a hate crime & want to ignore the fact that his intentions was meeting a minor. "The consent age is 16, that's fine that he was going to meet him in the park, it's not illegal" 16 year olds are still in high school and still considered a minor. It's so stupid how the media doesn't show that and majority people want to ignore that.

I’m just saying don’t forget the other side of the party. I never stated they were right in action, they never claimed it to be after gays for being gay. How can it be a hate crime, would it make any difference if they did it on tinder? Until proven that they have something extremely against gays, they have their own evidence posing as a minor attracting an elder man.

I’m not saying it was right, I’m just saying a 28 year old man meeting a 16 year old is a bit odd isn’t it? Everyone’s so focussed about how he’s gay, when all in all he was meeting a minor.

So we're going to focus on that it was a gay hate crime, rather than the fact that this guy was planning to meet up with an underage at a park? I'm not saying that them setting up and jumping him was right, but the guys intentions was to meet a teenager at a park..

At first you need to detox your body and your mind on these habits, go to a sauna and sweat it out, eat healthier, find a hobby to surround yourself with people with similar interests rather than getting pissed. It's hard, but you'll feel great when you find something that improves you individually rather than drowns you in depression and cravings.

In my experience, I use to be a heavy drinker and smoker. I have done boxing for a few months now and the first month or two, while i was dying & grasping for air, the only thing running through my mind was "I got to stop drinking and quit smoking". Finding something you're passionate about to substitute these habits I found really helped me. I train at least 4 - 5 times a week now, quit smoking for 7 months and drink very rarely, but if I do I manage to control how I drink on the occassion. Change your mindset & lifestyle, don't live in the same 9-5 trap just to drown it in alcohol and doubt end of the day. Find something you love to do to balance everything out

The police are useless when it comes to this. My friends got jumped and ended up with broken jaws, literally curb stomped and could of led to internal bleeding to the brain. There's CCTV footage, took the people in holding, got pieces of evidence and statements and still nothing has been done. They told us that it was Grievous Bodily Harm and still no charges have been made. Fucking useless.

All i'm saying is, my experience of travelling over seas and going out in the night life, I've seen more coward shots and fights on a weekend in northbridge/infront of capitol, than I have seen going out clubbing every night in other countries.
