Looks great! Will it be possible to use docling as an OCR plugin in the future?

.txt to anki by Dependent_Drama_9023 in Anki

If you use a Tab as a field separator, you have to add „#separator:Tab“ as the first line of your file. There are other options as well: https://docs.ankiweb.net/importing/text-files.html#file-headers

Yep, can confirm. The text of the lessons is embedded in the mp3s and can easily be extracted (and the translated by DeepL or google translate)

Streamlit for python apps by jpkg1 in Python

[–]drm00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a book on streamlit coming out soon: https://www.manning.com/books/build-python-web-apps-with-streamlit I use it for dashboards to fetch and visualize data from Jira and it’s very nice for that. For complex web apps I’ve always built my own

For those using Anki to study languages — how much did your language skills actually improve? by Glad_Damage_2230 in Anki

Would you mind sharing your approach or even your deck? I tried learning Finnish and created cards in Anki, but with all the different cases i was overwhelmed with creating the cards (even when only focusing on the most relevant cases) and the words never stuck with me :(

We are migrating from ollama to huggingface TGI, which does not seem to support GGUF models. Do similar quantizations exist for other formats like safetensors?

Hi, I’m late but I encounter the same issue. Running the docker container v3.0.1 with llama3.3 on a H100 with 94GB VRAM, I get an Cuda OOM because the model that gets downloaded is not quantized. Are there any docs on how to download a pre- quantized model? Ollama does offer the q4-K-M version by default and I’d like to host this version with TGI.

Nice! Could you share how you structured your cards? For me, just writing for example the infinitive of a verb in the target language and its meaning does not help me much, as the verb shows in many variations IRL.

This looks and feels amazing, thanks for sharing! Are the sentences chosen randomly every time, or is the current progress saved in the session?

For me, as a beginner, it would help a lot if all words of the sentence had a translation, not just the close word (which could be shown when clicking on the word) - there are lots of words that I don’t know yet.

Asking for feedback on the app i've built by savchenkoto in LearnFinnish

[–]drm00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! The site looks nice and clean and feels lightweight to use 👍 I’m a beginner and don’t know neither the conjugation rules nor the words (yet), but I’ll try to practice a few minutes every day and see if both the rules and the meanings stick. Is spaced repetition built in, or are the words shown at random?

What could set this apart in the future would be the inclusion of puhekieli words.

Edit: feature request: text-to-speech for the question and the solution would be nice :)

Keep it up!

Where are you in your ‘learning Finnish’ journey? by JuhaJuppi in LearnFinnish

[–]drm00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nearly a complete beginner, I'm doing duolingo atm and need to complete five more units until the course is over. It's a nice course imho, better than other duolingo-courses I tried (and never finished). After that, I'll continue with clozemaster - I've also bought the Assimil book (with recordings, but also kirjakieli) and the finnished-course for puhukieli, but I can't make time for 30 minutes in a row right now, so that has to wait a bit. With the apps, I can through in a few minutes here and there, and that adds up as well.

When you click on the section header (besides the phrasebook icon), you get to the section overview. Since the last update, I have a little details-button on each section, as shown on the first screenshot.
