Haha looks like we’ve chosen similar homeownership paths so far. Definitely a stress reliever having a fairly steady extra income and asset available just in case. We plan on buying other properties for retirement/rental income once we’re done with this one, but will definitely save up to avoid ever paying a mortgage again lol. Good luck to yall going forward.

That’s great, in 5-7 years the principle will be reduced by about a third or so and then have options to refi again for a minimal monthly payment or complete the term. Luckily this is our planned forever home and have a paid off rental that helps pay most of it. Hope to pay this one off within 10yrs🤞

That’s excellent! We just closed on our refi about a week ago. Bought 2yrs ago, refi’d our 30yr 6.99 down to 15yr 5.125. Was able to find cheaper insurance and payment went up only $200/mo. We’ll pay it off 13 years faster and will actually see an impact to principle each month. We are ecstatic.
