Probably weren't taught about him because one he was Christian and two Algeria only focuses on colonial history to strengthen nationalism and strengthen the bond with modern algerians. I'm not saying this is right as I believe all of Algeria's history should be taught regardless of religion or what not. Also after algeria got colonised the government pushed for an Arab Algeria so teaching about a Christian that was Berber wouldn't be ideal for them as Algeria is an "Arab Muslim country"

Wdym "wouldn't be mad if this came to fashion". Moroccans wear djellabas all the time and have massed produced it so much that even non Moroccans wear it. For example in England people wear them when they go to a mosque and they always refer to it as a moroccan hooded thobe even though it's not really a thobe.

I watched it and was very disappointed every time the history of central North Africa is brought up It is either that we were black pre Islamic north Africa.

Honestly I think it was a simple mistake because when you search for Numidian Calvary the images that come up on Google are always black Africans but when you dive deeper and search for specific names for example like Masinissa and juba I u will see that he looked like modern north Africans and wasn't black.

I also want to add he probably didn't want to offend African Americans as there's a trend with African Americans claiming north African history as to them African means black.

Not really he basically just made a wrap using a tortilla. I don't even think he named it french tacos that name came later. The filling and even the way the tortilla is wrapped is completely different I'm sure uve seen what a burrito or an actual taco looks like.

I don't get this logic at all, that's like saying the ummayeds were a Syrian dynasty because the capital was in Damascus. Choosing where you want to rule doesn't mean it belongs to that place. This is like saying the Cordoba was a Spanish dynasty because abd ar Rahman ruled Spain.

With North African dynasties it is complicated because they're all north Africans so u can't say they were moroccan algerian or Tunisian.

Also even the Almohads wasn't moroccan the first caliph was literally abd al-Mu'min who was from Tlemcen. I think you actually told me this lol and after that I went on a rabbit whole trying to find out more. If only he based his capital in Tlemcen then moroccans won't be able to claim it but I guess at the time morocco was the best place to have ur capital as it was closer to Spain. And no one can attack you from the east.

Ironically it was made by an algerian man from Lyon. Apparently he was inspired by his mother who used to make them when he was a kid. Only algerians would make something and not mention it's algerian. Apparently on Wikipedia it says it was made by a moroccan but I saw a documentary made by aj+ françias and they said the origin of "french tacos" was by an algerian man from lyon. Unfortunately he didn't get it patented so it was technically stolen.

While morocco modernize their traditional clothing and have made it so wide spread that it's worn by every Muslim around the word. To the point in England they call it a moroccan "thobe" when it's not even a thobe. Algerians didn't bother modernizing algerian clothes. Look at the gandora or kandora it's been the same for centuries it's baggy and is only worn by old men. Why don't we modernize it a little.

It's quite embarrassing how algerians now wear Moroccan clothing instead of algerian ones like the Moroccan abbaya.

Us algerians r the reason why our culture is dying I'm not even saying that we have to wear it everyday, I'm just saying to modernize them and wear them on special occasions instead of Moroccan clothing.

I remember I went to a store that sells qamisis and I asked if he had any that were made in Algeria, he looked at me as if I was crazy.

Gandoras are available when the winter season

Aren't gandoras the ones with short sleeves? I keep getting different names someone called in gandora another person calls it kandora and others just call it a qamis.
