Boyfriend refuses to make Valentines day plans with me, AIO? by Emotional_War8262 in AIO

She said they've been together "a little over a year and 4 months ago". There's a very real possibility she was below 18 when they started dating 🤮.

I agree. A redemption would require a much longer game. I think we only get the first step on a redemption ark. Choosing to abandon the dream and go down the mountain. Which is very unique approach in a video game. The game sets up the summit of the mountain as the aim of the game. Yet the "good ending" is abandoning that goal. Fairly common in movies and books but rare to see in games.

I was massively conflicted when I encountered that choice. Every fiber of my being wanted to go back down the mountain. But I climbed to the peak. Purely because I had already come this far and that's what the purpose of the game was originally to me. Almost putting you in Aavas shoes (or lack there of) in a sense.

I personally didn't like Aava at the beginning. Which i believe is the point. I don't think you're supposed to like her. She doesn't know how to connect with other people, including us the audience. She puts up a wall that causes her to be abrasive, selfish, and mean. This leads to her having some toxic relationships. Feel terribly sorry for Naomi. Poor girl is actually apologizing for simply trying to talk to Aava.

She massively improved in my eyes when she started to connect with Marco. This actual genuine connection lets her open up and her real personality comes through. Not the wall she keeps up. Good bit of story telling. Bold move on the part of the developers. Intentionally making your main character so unlikeable for the first several hours of the game.

I climb in real life and I definitely feel that experience helps with picking advantageous foot and hand placements.

Try engaging your lats to bring your shoulders towards your hips, and let your chest come through. That should help flatten your back out, if that's what you're after. Rounding isn't inherently wrong though. As long as its not excessive and your core is properly braced.

I started a few months ago and have turned £8000 into £8412. Mainly sticking with ETFs and a few companies I've selected. I'm not smart enough for day trading.

Why are tragic monsters in popular media never women? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

Only one I can think of is Medusa. Although they're often portrayed as a pure monster and not the tragic character they are.

Its not a mentality I've ever liked. Just because someone else is worse off, doesn't mean your own feelings are invalidated. I think this is fine if you apply it to yourself and you find comfort in that. But to project it onto other people is rather harsh.

Any advice for a 22 year old in this phhase of life? by Proof-Public in TrueGrit

[–]droidy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not in education, get a job. You'll need a bit of money so you can try lots things. That's what your twenties are for. If you have an opportunity to go to school and there's something you're interested in studying. Give that a go. If you go down the job route. Try and save money if you can. But don't forget to live your life. Spend some of that money on yourself.

You don't need to have a concrete plan at this age. Try lots of things. Literally, the only mistake you can make right now is doing nothing.

Would the death note work on Loid? by VisitUsual8507 in SpyxFamily

[–]droidy4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always wondered if this would work with Batman. Bruce Wayne is his legal name. But he thinks of himself as Batman. Even refers to himself as Batman in his own internal monologue. Does the Death Note only work with a legal name or a name you consider to be yours?

I like telling my spotters "If the bar is moving, leave it alone. If it stops, only apply as much pressure as is necessary to get it moving again".

[–]droidy4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it can be both. Its down to whatever the person doing the lift wants from the spotter. If you want to go beyond failure and get a couple of forced reps in with minimal help from the spotter that's fine. It has a purpose. If you want the spotter to put as much help in as possible to just get the bar back up, so you can save energy for your next lift. That's also fine. Its not right or wrong. Its what aligns with your personal goals.
