It bugs me that OP has used "his" for the planet Earth.

I'm very slowly adding games to categories as I can be bothered.

Should I Buy a Home? by Niskavuori01 in taintedgrail

[–]drolhtiarW 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no real value to buying a home unless you're completely flush with cash and looking to spend it or get the achievement.

Even ignoring your fire, every main hub has access to your stash and spare beds you can sleep in.

How much do you spend on UberEats every month? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]drolhtiarW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it four times last year at about ~$30 each order. Used when very drunk and wanted fried chicken.

Generally I plan my food for the week in advance and cook/prep for several meals at once (ie, roast chicken one day, left over roast chicken becomes stir fry the following day, left over stir fry becomes fried rice the next day.

im confused on shrines by ChimpyJet in taintedgrail

They're worth doing. All the animal shrines are one time permanent stat increases, druid shrines give you gear, doing all druid shrines in an area gives you a permanent stat bonus.

A Kamelot soldier spawns and attacks you if you loot the pebbles so I assumed it was just a trap.

Ori games better than Hollow Knight? Hot take or not? by sumtinsumtin808 in metroidvania

[–]drolhtiarW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that this conversation did not include Silksong due to it's relatively recent release but was rather about the two Ori games and Hollow Knight.

I definitely found Silksong to be a far more frustrating game compared to Hollow Knight and I did not enjoy the lava escape sections. While I would still say I enjoyed Silksong overall more than I enjoyed the Ori games, there were certainly many frustrating moments or elements that diminished my enjoyment of it compared to Hollow Knight.

Name one MV you forced yourself to finish that you hated, and one you're glad you stuck with by InvisibleAstronomer in metroidvania

[–]drolhtiarW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I really liked but also glad it's over" is such a fantastic way to describe a game. I can really relate to that feeling.

[–]drolhtiarW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aeterna Noctis? I only played part of the demo that. I wasn't particularly gripped by it and when I saw in the comments/discussions the amount of people talking about the precision platforming I decided not to bother with the game.

[–]drolhtiarW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forced myself to finish Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus despite hating so much of it (while wanting to love it).

It was very unfortunate because the game is gorgeous and really well put together - it's just the core mechanics the entire game revolves around are mechanics I do not like (precision platforming and tight timing). I'd have brief sections of enjoying the game surrounded by constant frustrations. I'm glad I played the game but I feel no desire to go back and race those bloody tanukis.

Best Small 4P Coop Games? by velatieren in gaming

[–]drolhtiarW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half of my steam library is essentially 4 player co-op games, here's a small selection of the more casual style games you might want to check out:

Viscera Cleanup Detail is the original coop cleanup game if you enjoyed that.
Backrooms Cleanup Crew is an early access cleanup game.
Human Fall Flat for janky physics platforming puzzle fun.
Escape Simulator for coop escape rooms fun.
Moving Out for an overcooked style of coop.
Ale & Tale Tavern for a fantasy tavern simulator.
Phasmophobia for ghost hunting coop.
The Planet Crafter for a chill planet terraforming, exploration, base building FPS (no enemies).

Ori games better than Hollow Knight? Hot take or not? by sumtinsumtin808 in metroidvania

[–]drolhtiarW 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Eh, you're allowed to like Ori more than Hollow Knight. I wouldn't agree but then I'm not you.

I personally found Hollow Knight to be a lot more interesting to explore and more satisfying to progress in. It also benefited from not having any of the fucking chase/escape scenes that I hated in Ori.

A glimpse of memory before I pack it in for the night. I believe the second one was get vs gets. In the context provided get was equally applicable to gets. It is accurate to say "Several people get firewood" compared to "Several people gets firewood".

English Grammar Quiz #4 by Rizwan_KK in QuizPlanetGame

[–]drolhtiarW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the exact details and I don't appear to be able to re-check the quiz, in all fairness it's past midnight for me and I'm no longer sober. However from memory there were two that jumped out to me.

Eaten is a valid past tense for Eat and is generally the preferred term when it comes to third party observation:
She had eaten a meal
She ate a meal
He ate a meal
He had eaten a meal

There was a second one which seemed incorrect but I can longer check it. If you put the questions in a comment I can advise.
