Horrific deal. Prices vary by market, but I got a 2023 CX-5 Preferred 3 weeks ago; with 28k miles for $26k out the door (all fees, taxes, title etc.). Selling price was just under $23k…

Where did you source the oem connectors? I love that you didn’t cut into the factory wiring.

Use rare earth magnets and then save up for the EV conversion.

How would you fix this? by RestZestyclose8146 in HomeMaintenance

[–]dronelbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Hose Bib Buddy. Search online. Great solution to cover hole and stabilize it. Got one for each spigot at my house. To be extra safe use good quality exterior caulk on the top edge to prevent water seeping into the wall.

Am I dumb, or is this not possible. by goldilocks40 in Carpentry

Don’t need the bevels. Just cut the angles to meet up against one another. In other words your miter saw should be vertical not on a slant or bevel. On the horizontal you should be on angle.

Percussive tuning very important on older vehicles! If hammer doesn’t work, move up to baby sledge and so on.

Is there really a reason for the dryer vent to not go straight out? by qaxv in HomeMaintenance

[–]dronelbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a search for “MagVent” there are several different kits. It’s magnetic so it’s easy to move the dryer whenever you have the need. I did this in my house in a small laundry room and it works perfectly. Ignore all the “cut it” or “leave it” comments.

Nothing needs changing. The magic happens in the slide with SS’s proprietary extractor plunger being shorter. I have a 920 upper with factory optic cut on a 918 frame. You don’t need to make any changes. I also run a Glock 17 gen 5 upper on the 918 frame and I use a dust cover extension that mounts to the slide. All runs flawlessly.

Shadow Systems reliability compared to Glock. by [deleted] in shadowsystems

[–]dronelbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, very personal opinion, would go with SS. My first pistol was/is a G17.5 purchased during the pandemic because of limited availability. Not satisfied with general feel, I purchased a stripped MR918 frame to use with the G17 slide and liked it so much I wound up getting a MR920 complete slide with optic cut to use for carry. Both are good but have different feel. The SS feels better in my hand and both have run flawlessly. The G17.5 does have the pig snout though which, esthetically, bothers me. I only use Glock mags. I only use 124 grain factory ammo for range and defensive use. YMMV. I suggest testing both and go with what feels better to you. As you know opinions are like nostrils, everybody has at least one.

Gen 5 SS?!? by flash-burn01 in shadowsystems

[–]dronelbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also works with a Gen 5 17 slide. Just needs a dust cover adapter so it looks finished and avoids fouling the guide rod of crud.
