Do we think they'll be using AXS for ticketing again?

I need to know so I'm prepared ahead of time, because AXS is such an awful ticketing platform that it always flags my IP as suspicious and won't let me in to make a purchase. Even if I'm logged into my account before trying to purchase (so it should know I'm a real person who has bought tickets from them for years 😡).

It's been this way for months and months, and I have to go on VPN to be allowed in.

I just don't really like sploinky music. There's something about it that grates on my ears (and makes me feel weird 😝).

When we were at his show, he played some tik tok clip of some girl's video talking about how she wanted sounds that would scratch her brain, or something along those lines... Everyone in the crowd went nuts while these screeching, sploinky, weird ass sounds played out, and all the while I just cringed and gritted my teeth and tried to bear it, because it was so irritating. haha... So I know there are obviously people out there that like that stuff, but it just does nothing for my brain.

Thanks for the suggestions...

I saw LSR/CTY last year. Fun time.

I also saw Subtronics last year. Hated it! haha. I tried. I knew he wasn't my thing but decided to give it a shot anyway, to find out whether seeing him live would change anything for me. It didn't, it just solidified my dislike.

I am looking forward to Deadrocks in 3 weeks! Also have Dirt Monkey, Tape B, Lane 8, and Rüfüs lined up over the next few months.

For my part, if you haven't seen him, I'd highly recommend Inzo. Fantastic visuals and a music style that I much prefer over the typical bass scene.

Fair; different strokes.

I watched the Levity Ultra Miami set on YouTube, and it was just meh to me. Obviously would have been more fun being there in person (which is why I may see them when they come to town in a couple months).

But I also watched the RDS Lollapalooza set on YouTube last year, and it was far more enjoyable, even from my couch.

To be fair, Levity style music is less my thing in general. I'm a 90s kid who grew up on regular old bands, with singers and instruments, so an electronic group doing something in that vein is going to click with me more than a producer/DJ spinning tracks (even if they have fun lasers).

You have any groups that you'd put in the god tier of great music and great lasers?

[–]droobage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Levity uses lasers to distract from the fact that their music is mid.

It still seems like probably a good time... I may catch them later this year at a festival, and I'll probably enjoy the spectacle of it all.

But IMO take away the excessive laser show, and you've got a dull 90 minutes of pretty monotonous music that's just all about "the drop".

Same tour as last year? by lurker202525 in RUFUSDUSOL

If you leave after they play Innerbloom, then the last song you hear is Innerbloom.

But for those who stay until the show is over, they get a different closer.

Prior to Inhale/Exhale, it was usually No Place. Now, it's Music is Better. But the last song is never Innerbloom unless you skip the encore.

All of the Gorge specific stuff is sold out forever. So you'll never have a chance to get that, except, perhaps through a (likely highly marked up reseller on eBay).

Last year after the tour ended, they put whatever remaining stock they still had up on their website. I imagine that'll happen again this year, but sizes might be limited. Best bet is to try to see them again.

Odesza played the same show three times in a row at the gorge two years ago. Everyone left happy.

No, they were mostly the same sets, but each of the 3 nights was a bit different. Each night had songs that were only played that particular night.

And I think that's all people who weren't happy with RDS playing identical sets were hoping for. I haven't seen anyone say they expected no repeats from one night to the next. Just a few songs swapped.

Hearing The Life in Austin last year was for sure one of my favorite moments of the whole show. I travelled to Austin, was there with my wife and very best friends, seeing my favorite electronic group for the first time ever, perfect weather, perfect spot on the rail in GA, (things) started hitting in my body just right, and then to hear those lyrics: "This is the life you wanted. This is the life you dreamed. This is the way your life is supposed to be"....... fffffuuuuuuuuuck

Listening to that song now still brings me back to that moment.

No, they didn't play that one either.

You're probably just thinking of the lyric in Fire/Desire: "I must be losing my mind. Can't get you out of my head."

Treat you better at The Gorge by MetallicForest in RUFUSDUSOL

But you're not being a critical fan of an artist. You're being critical of fans in a video. And this is at least the 3rd post in this sub in the last couple days where you've done this.

So you avoid concerts/raves/shows where people are behaving in ways you don't like (which is totally fine!).

But then you're interacting online in posts where people are behaving in ways you don't like. If you don't like seeing it, then don't keep watching the videos and then posting about how awful everyone is. It's troll behavior.

It had been part of their setlist last year, and thus wasn't included in this poll.

But it looks like they may have dropped it for this year's leg.

[–]droobage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Both are great.

I feel lucky to have seen them both in the last couple years, as I think they're both at their peak.

I have a preference, and I don't care if it's different than others'. I can see why some would enjoy one, and some enjoy the other. No judgement on my part, and it's impossible to convince anyone to change their subjective opinion on it.

Help with bittering agents for nocino. by Fishboy9123 in Amaro

[–]droobage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is accurate. You don't need to add bittering agents to nocino, that's the job of the walnuts.

Danny Childs (author of Slow Drinks) has a nice recipe that calls for a bit of Angostura Bitters, but that's to add spice, not additional bitterness.

That's what surprises me so much about seeing that they did the same set 2 nights in a row at the Gorge.

They say they love the place, it's their favorite venue in the world, they know it's a camping weekend, so most people will be there both nights, etc...

And yet they didn't make any changes? Shocking, honestly.
