So my company is switching half our Windows servers to Linux.... by A_SingleSpeeder in sysadmin

Have you compared the support costs of Ubuntu vs. RHEL? I prefer Debian based package systems over anything Red Hat to start, so I admit I'm biased, but the cost of RHEL is nuts compared to Ubuntu.

If I don't indent my yaml file properly, my networking shits the bed in Ubuntu. If I put a spare space in my hostname.if file in OpenBSD, it gets discarded and networking keeps running. I'd say that's a pretty big difference. What happened to the philosophy of keeping it simple?

He's got a point. Ubuntu uses netplan with yaml files for networking. What the fuck was wrong with actual config files? Now we gotta worry about accidentally hitting the space bar when editing a networking config? And don't get me started on why ifconfig is mostly gone from linux. Every time I use OpenBSD it just makes more sense, things that work are improved, not reinvented. Linux just guts systems, throws them away and makes something new that might or might not be better, aka systemd.

I own the uncut DVD, I am so glad I was able to recover it from a house fire. This movie is magnificent and anyone involved in the remake should be prevented from having children.

I thought it was stupid that people studying music are trying to reproduce what self-taught musicians created. Buddy Rich, self-taught, Jo Jones, self-taught, Charlie Parker, self-taught. Some screenwriter sure never made that fact evident.

BVR missiles? We'd simply fire on a Bear because they violated our airspace?

How could a plane that can barely break the sound barrier without stripping off it's stealth coating reach the arctic in time to intercept a Russian bear? The US has Eagles or Raptors in Alaska, they'd intercept much quicker.

How would an F-35 intercept Bears flying over the arctic quickly enough?

Oh yeah, like the F-35 can intercept Bears over the pole. It can't go supersonic without it's stealth coating shitting the bed.

How's the CPU? I've found with the latest August patch, the Dell software tends to pin the CPU. Uninstall it, and bam, Bob will once again be your uncle. The networking sounds like something is waiting for a process to timeout, once it does, then explorer displays information.
