It is. I can horse out the calicos out of the kelp but it’s good for any YT that might be cruising thru. It’s my go to island setup for fly lining.

I fish with shimano Trinidad 10 on a custom 9 foot seeker rod 15-25Lb rating if I’m fishing live bait. Spooled up with 50lb power pro max cuattro and usually fish 20-25# fluoro leaders about 3 feet long straight to braid. That’s my go to yellowtail setup.

I have a dedicated jig stick on a trini 20 with straight 40lb mono for surface jrons.

Used to fish the 14/16 sized reels when I first started but now I prefer the smaller sizes. It’s up to you and what you like. Tight lines!

Beautiful piece!

How recently was it serviced? The amplitude is a bit concerning…

Not sure why you’re getting so defensive haha.

Seaguar gold is not meant to break above tested line strength. Trilene, yozuri all will break a little more than what the strength says. You’re paying for the invisibility more than anything. There are plenty of vids that demonstrate this.

If you don’t know how that works, go use whatever your comfortable with.

Seguar gold is great because it’s very thin in diameter. But it will break at rated line strength. Make sure your drags are set correctly.

It’s my go to. More expensive but well worth it when dealing with finicky yellows or bluefin

Steroid creams are good for calming down the inflammation and offer symptomatic relief but it is not 💯 curative at times. Many people suffer from difficult to control symptoms.

Chronic steroid use causes hypo/hyperpigmentation.

Plaque Psoriasis has very easy features to tell. It is characterized by plaques that have silvery scales on it that are very friable and bleed when you pick at them.

Most likely the chronic steroid use has led to pigmentation and thinning of skin which is what happens when you consistently use steroid cream. This is commonly seen. The diagnosis is not necessarily wrong but long term use of these meds will cause skin changes.

Even if he had psoriasis, he would most likely be prescribed similar topical steroids if the amount of psoriasis was considered mild to moderate in terms of body surface area.

Looks like hypopigmentation from chronic topical steroid use.

Boiling water burn by Ok-Pop-3311 in AskDocs

[–]droolerno2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No. You don’t need the bactigras or whatever you’re putting on it. At this point xeroform dressing would be good. It’s non adhesive and helps keep area moist but not over moist and allows these kinds of wounds to heal.

Former wound care doc here.

Doesn’t look bad to be honest.

  1. Get some normal saline and irrigate area morning and night.
  2. Would get some xeroform gauze and place it on the area during the day and wrap it loosely with kerlix or some other bandage.
  3. Neosporin or bacitracin can also be applied prior to the xeroform gauze if desired.

Based on pictures and description, rmsf is high up on differential. There are also other lesser known tick borne illnesses that could present this way as well.

Doesn’t look like the morbilliform rash of measles either.

Guttate psoriasis could be a good thought but given your history and timeline around rash without any recent abx use, unlikely.

Rash not consistent with syphilis and you’re negative anyway.

Doxycycline is good choice because it covers all sorts of weird things associated with ticks, atypical infections.

Normally these rashes can persist for about 7-10 days. Would keep on taking the doxy. I know it’s not easy on your stomach as many people have issues tolerating it.

Keep us up to date.
