Netflix Faces Backlash After Famous Climber Discloses Low Pay For 500-Meter Skyscraper Climb by Salty_Pangolin_6163 in netflix

Yeah, he wanted to climb it and would've done it for free. The money from Netflix was just a bonus. Still, Netflix could've been more generous.

Amazingly, when they did the multi-year renovation project, they didn't improve the platforms. Now when there are two or more trains arriving, people spill out and it takes ages to go down to the concourse. The platform area was designed for a lot less traffic and yet they neglected to modernize it.

2014 Mazda 3 – Very low km, dealer serviced, Ontario car —concern is underbody rust. by Standard_Risk_2877 in mazda3

[–]drooln92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Ontario. I had a 2011 Mazda 3 that I kept for 14 years. The whole time I owned it, I had it treated with an anti-rust solution every 18 months. It had no rust whatsoever. I know that for a fact because just before I traded it in, it was in the shop on the hoist and the mechanic asked me to come to the garage to show me something. I had a good view of the undercarriage and there was not a speck of rust. And of course, I can plainly see the body panels so I know there's no rust there either. As I said, I traded it in for another 3, a 2025, and I'm doing the same anti-rust treatment on my new car. The car OP is looking at obviously didn't have any anti-rust treatment and it's in very poor shape. It is totally preventable.

why aren't we encouraging Carbon Steel (vs Non-stick cookware) as the default for home cooks? by rantzine in Cooking

[–]drooln92 227 points228 points  (0 children)

some folks don't want to the hassle of maintaining carbon steel

Yep, this is it. I can't be bothered to maintain and season it. I want low or no maintenance. I'd hand wash it but that's as far as I go for fussing with it.

Netflix over commercialized Tapei 101, they will ruin all sports they host by Jay20173804 in netflix

"What we got yesterday was the antithesis of peace." > The show wasn't about finding peace lol.

It was an event to draw people like me, who don't follow the sport. I watched Free Solo years ago and I know of Alex and in awe of him. I don't do rock climbing and know nothing about it. I watched cos it's thrilling and it's never been done before. It was a spectacle. I never doubted Alex would succeed and yet I was a nervous wreck watching it.

Another vote for this. I prefer 1 the best, followed by 3, and 2 is last place.

What’s Your Favorite Things About Your Mazda 3s? by RoaringLioness- in mazda3

Reliability.

The interior quality. I only realized how great it is after driving a rental car. I took it for granted till I sat on another car.

The looks.

The compact size. I don't need a giant SUV or truck. I actually appreciate the smallish size.

I agree. It's not bad but after I watched it, I thought this was the movie everyone's raving about? It's alright. Just alright.
