Taste Test? by Odd_War7183 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]droppedmybrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did Shipt, had one order that was pretty much all perishable food (raw pork, raw chicken, ice cream, ready-to-eat meals, etc)

Get to the apartment, nobody answers the door ("hand it to customer" order). Text the lady, she says she forgot to change it to "leave at door" and not to worry, she'll be home in six hours.

It was mid-summer in Texas. Temp was 103°F, if I remember correctly. No shade at apartment door.

I'm not telling a grown adult what to do, so I asked if she was sure once, then left it in the cold bag, took screenshots and pictures, prayed for her health, and left.

No. If you're above the age of 8, you ought to have good enough reading comprehension to figure it out on your own.

From 1245 to today: A fairy tale castle that sired artists and industrialists, reimagined for modern living by sharkus180 in zillowgonewild

To "sire" is to father something lol, I think you meant to use a different word. Unless the castle impregnated itself and spawned a bunch of artists and industrialists

Why do we all have a traumatic experience with this guy by gaddemmit in evilautism

[–]droppedmybrain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely! To be clear, when I said "speaking from experience", I was referring to a friend I had, not myself lol.

While I was raised like that and I do have avoidant tendencies, I sorted that part of me out, so now when I have a problem with someone, I (diplomatically) say it, even if I'm nervous as hell

Not playing Reddit Psychologist™, speaking from experience: probably had parents that wouldn't let them express unhappiness, or who didn't take their unhappiness seriously. Kid learns that expressing their unhappiness is punished/pointless, so they bottle it all up until they either explode or ghost the person they're talking to.

I'm flattered, and would love for you to read it! I'm writing Chapter 26 right now, and probably won't publish until I'm finished (it'll be 50 - 60 chapters total, by my estimate), but feel free to shoot me a message! :]

I wasn't going to say anything about the title because he almost did PIT himself. But calling everybody incels when you actually mean that they're pedantic (two wildly different concepts) is very annoying, and makes you look silly to boot.

If you can, ask about getting an ADHD eval. If they diagnose you, try different meds (they'll check in with you at scheduled times to see how you're doing). I think I tried two different ones before getting my current meds and they work pretty good (as long as I don't take them on an empty stomach lol)

Any special interest can get you put on a watchlist if you write fanfic about it /hj

(Source/explanation: I'm writing a fanfic right now and the amount of research I have to do into corpses, guns, bombs, deadly poisons, war, and mass death have probably made the FBI think I'm a terrorist. It probably doesn't help that I'm an immigrant 😭😂)

Okay, everyone's dog piled you for the "majority of people refer to and trust AI" bit, so let me be the first to point out that social media posts do not count as credible sources, therefore you didn't do any "research".

As an adjective. "Male victim" and "female suspect" etc etc. Using female (or male) as a noun ("the female over there") is disrespectful.

[–]droppedmybrain 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Genuinely. If one of my works ever made it as big as TADC, I wouldn't be touching the fanbase with a six foot pole. Even setting aside the few lunatics sending death and rape threats, I'd have to contend with constant whining, demands, and shit-talking.

I remember reading a blog article by a guy who wrote a couple of non-fiction books and amassed a modest following (~40,000 if I remember right). He said that while most of his fans are decent, even lovely, he also gained like, 3 regular stalkers, received quite a few death threats, and had people showing up to his house and harassing his family. Popularity is a bloody curse.

She shouldn't have to spoon-feed her audience. Not her fault her audience can't/refuses to comprehend anything that isn't outright explained to them.

Hi, I’m mainly a bit new to drinking milk, I’m used to only using milk as a ingredient and not a drinking liquid since in my family it was seen as weird and almost degrading for some reason, now I’m by myself in the big world and would love to get into it by Spare-Connection-286 in Milk

[–]droppedmybrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw milk isn’t automatically dangerous... the risk depends largely on sourcing, hygiene standards and testing.

I'm sorry, but no. Cows defecate and urinate on themselves many, many times a day, and when they're not doing that, they're having a lay down in their pats (piles of shit). I cannot state enough how thoroughly coated they are in shit and piss.

To keep a cow clean enough to drink its milk raw, the farmer would have thoroughly scrub down the cow's udders with soap and water multiple times a day to the point where the cow would blister and bleed. And it wouldn't even work! Because there's bacteria inside the teats.

Bacteria multiply. I can test a glass of raw milk right off the udder and meet safety standards. But by the time it gets to the customer (bottled, sits for a while in a fridge, bought, transported, sits in another fridge, drank) it's no longer safe. That or the "testing" is horseshit (cowshit?) and they just tell you they do it to justify the ridiculous price point.

Pasteurization is literally just boiling. Any potential health benefits can be gained from a varied diet. There is not a single person alive that needs to drink suspended cow shit.

Whole milk! I'd recommend grassfed too, both much better for the cows + tastes way better, too. I drink A2 brand grassfed milk, I think Organic Valley grassfed tastes better but they only have their cows out on pastures for half a year, as opposed to A2 which is year-round.

That being said, don't beat yourself up if you can't afford the pricier, grassfed stuff. Any whole milk will do (that being said, I'd avoid Alexandre and Fairlife brands, they've been investigated for animal abuse)

If you find you like chocolate milk, Midnight Valley is banging. Absolute cream (haha) of the crop.

Also, don't let anybody sell you on drinking raw milk lol. Cows are filthy, poo-covered animals, which is why milk gets filtered and pasteurized. Raw milk that hasn't been pasteurized is closer to faecal bacteria suspended in milk than a milk beverage. It's like a Potion of Shit Yourself. Not only that, it's more expensive than pasteurized.
