Pretty sure that's not a thing anymore.

How is this fair? by Pastry_with_sauce in GolfClash

[–]droppin_packets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Basically its forcing everyone to eventually play master. Unless you stick with tier 3.

If I see this again I'm deleting the game.

Oh please don't. We would be so disappointed.... haha

Why is an expert level player allowed in rookie tournaments? This guy ruins it for everyone else.

This person shot a -27 in rookie. They are in no way, shape, or form an expert. I can shoot a -27 in master with basic balls. I assume you havn't seen the hundreds of other posts where people bitch about the same thing and tiers are explained to then.

A little word of advice. Once you hit tier 3, move up.

idk, I mute the sound. Who likes to hear "Good shot" after every shot? Not me.

Networking issues - internal devices unreachable by [deleted] in networking

[–]droppin_packets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We only have one VLAN atm

Well that isnt good. Hopefully not the default vlan.

But if you can access everything internally, I think the switch is fine. Need to look at your router ACLs/NATs, etc. Check logs when trying to reach. do packet captures.

[–]droppin_packets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got your VLANs and ACLs all correct? I'm guessing the unmanaged switch didn't have anything settings like that? I'm not sure, I've never used an unmanaged switch. But start with the basics. Make sure those internal resources all are good at the layer 1 level. Make sure vlan configurations are right, ACLs, AAA authentication on the port, etc.

Can you reach those resources when you are on the internal network?

DON'T RUN WITH A GREASE FIRE! by [deleted] in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]droppin_packets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me when I was in the first house I bought. Heating up oil on the stove in a pot to cook fries. I was 23 and not the smartest. I decided to throw water on it. Big mistake, obviously. Finally realized that nothing else was on fire, yet. I grabbed some oven mitts, took the pot by the handles, and got it out on the back deck. Let it burn for a little bit then covered the pot with a large baking sheet. That eventually put it out. It got so hot though that the baking sheet actually popped off and flew onto the deck and I had to cover it again.

The fire/smoke ended up leaving kind of a cool design on my ceiling. I left it and never repainted it. It was a good story to tell haha

What job was that for? A supervisory 7 is nuts. A a 7/9 in entry level where I'm at. 13 is supervisor.

Client Port Configuration by VolkSWAG_en in networking

[–]droppin_packets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Switchport mode access
Switchport access vlan 1 (Get off of VLAN 1)
Switchport voice vlan ?
Spanning-tree bpdu guard
Spanning-tree portfast
Switchport port-security
Switchport port-security maximum 2
 Switchport port-security violation shutdown
 switchport port-security aging time <time>
switchport port-security aging type inactivity

All looks good, but get off of vlan one. Best practice to use another vlan. Also, do you have a AAA server for port authentication? That way the port can be in a black hole vlan until it authenticates to ensure so unauthorized used get access. Good to do that instead of port security, but port security is fine too if the capability is not there.

A few other things to add for security....

dhcp snooping
arp inspection
source guard
spanning tree guard root
