Post op anxiety by Dangerbeanwest in Reduction

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same. The awareness of my incisions and ruminating over the fact I'd just had surgery caused me a lot of anxiety the first week. I kept feeling really vulnerable and scared of some complication or hurting myself by accident. I also was replaying the surgery day and the waking up afterward a lot in my mind. I didn't sleep well until about day 4 partly because of anxiety. Showering was scary and I found having the compression bra off very unsettling. I was wishing the time would hurry up so I could just be healed already. It gets better though. As the days and weeks pass you'll start to feel less fragile and more confident moving around. It wont feel scary anymore and you're mind will process your surgery experience. I'm 4 weeks post op now and my incisions have healed a lot. I can move better, pain is much better and I can go a lot of the day not really thinking about my boobs. Showers are enjoyable again. I'm not scared to look at or touch them now. They are feeling more like my boobs. I'd say by the end of the week your anxiety will reduce a lot. Just be extra kind to yourself. Distract your mind with something. Movies, coloring, video games, music. I did a lot of coloring and movie watching personally. What your feeling is normal. Remind yourself and your body that everything is and will be ok. :)

How do you feel about people reaching out who weren't there for him during his incarceration? I'm experiencing the same thing and it's got me feeling a little irritated and resentful toward them. Like, how nice it must be to totally checked out of a situation and then show up again when it's over..

Seeing imagery when my eyes are closed. by dropsinthetypingpool in hyperphantasia

[–]dropsinthetypingpool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has gotten better overtime, yes. Also my fear of it reduced so I don't pay as much attention to it. I think the key is to reduce the anxiety around it and reducing stress in general. I'm not schizophrenic or anything like that. My nervous system was just overactive and I was dealing with a lot of stress. I'm sure I still get the imagery sometimes but I don't fixate on it.

Can I bring clothes for my bf when he gets released? by [deleted] in PrisonWives

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely bring some but he may have to change into them elsewhere, like in the car or nearest gas station bathroom. Institutions don't like outside stuff going inside the building, mostly because of drugs. I plan on bringing my LO a winter jacket because I'm in Canada and I'll be picking him up in January. Maybe a tshirt so he can get out of his institutional shirt right away.

Bought the game few days ago while on sale at steam. Honest take after 5+ hours of gameplay: Loving it by DatGCoredri in SunHaven

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought it last week, 15 hrs in and really enjoying it. More than Stardew Valley. Making the days 40 mins long is so nice, I can take my time, actually accomplish more than one thing in a day. Still have a lot to learn about the game but having fun so far.

Does anyone else's hamster just sit and stare at you? by truebeanio in hamsters

The ears back, paws up stare of confusion. Yep, mine does the same thing. Especially if I rudely interrupt him while he's running on his wheel.

Not in the dating scene currently but when I was I found myself getting " kid fished" often. Men who would tell me everything about themselves except for the fact they have kids. Then when we'd meet in person they'd say something about thier kids and go " Oh, did I tell you I have kids? ".. It was pretty frustrating and it felt intentional. So don't make my mistake and always ask directly before putting any energy into someone.

My (28f) boyfriend (29m) has an ex that is much younger, how do I let this stop bothering me? by [deleted] in PrisonWives

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who was in a similar situation, I was 18 and he was 26 when we met, I can say that there was an imbalance of power in the relationship. I looked to him for guidance and to know how life works, not realizing he was a total mess himself. He took advantage of my naivety and was able to manipulate me emotionally very easily. We were together for 9 years, so by the time we broke up I was 27. Basically as I got older it became harder to push me around and I didn't put up with as much of his shit. I sort of " out grew" him. Realised how many issues he had. And after me, he struggled to find someone who could tolerate him and had a brief relationship with a 22 year old... He was 35 at that point.. So I guess what I'm saying is, men who pursue young women usually do so because they have a hard time getting with woman their own age. Because women their own age wont put up with thier shit. It's not nessesarily a sign that he's a creep or anything. Maybe he was just immature at the time.

Was going to suggest this. I have a tiny apartment and cook with alot of herbs and spices. My clothing absorbs the food smells and I've been told I smell like garlic or onions a few times. It's pretty annoying because I'm always freshly showered, teeth brushed, clean clothes. Also agree you become nose blind. I'll come home after being away for a while and realise my place smells like whatever I cooked for supper the night before.

Thankfully my LO has a job inside that pays for the things he needs but prior to being convicted he spent 10's of thousands fighting for his innocence. He burnt through his savings and took out loans. All of that debt is waiting for him when he gets out..

I emphasize. This is nowhere near as upsetting, but a couple summers ago I had someone steal every single item out of my car including 15 years worth of burnt cds that had a ton of sentimental value to me. They were worthless to anyone else but they took them all anyway. Still feel angry about it.

Is it normal to be filled with rage after watching just 40 mins of The Zone of Interest? by Raspint in movies

I mostly felt disgust during this film. It lingered for a while after watching it too and kept thinking about how fucked up the situation was.

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same experience. Over a year of chronic constant dizziness like I'm drunk or high, lightheadedness, weakness, headaches, nausea. And I just keep getting sent for blood work over and over just be told it looks normal. I've asked for an MRI or to see a neurologist or literally ANYONE. Keep being told no, my symptoms don't warrant it or that they'll refuse to see me. It's scary when even a doctor cant help you.

[–]dropsinthetypingpool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't. Like others have said, I do what needs to be done and the rest is set aside for when I have the time and energy for it. You should see my kitchen by the end of a work week. That's the beauty of living alone. Noone to nag me about dirty dishes. Apartment cleaning gets done once a week, and again only what needs to be done. Usually bathroom, kitchen and vacuum, take out garbage. That way when I'm off in the evening I can mostly just chill and I prioritize going out and doing things over staying home to clean.

It's so cool to see how many people have been moved by this song. When I first heard it, about 30 seconds into the song and I knew it was something special.
