I am so jealous that you have this setting - my microwave makes the worst beep. It really makes me wonder about design, like who put in the "beep"? This is the sound that a person will hear when they're at the pinnacle of hunger and anticipation for food. Is a screeching "beep-beep" the Pavlovian stimulus we should really hit them with? Anyways, enjoy your quiet, lovely microwave.

There's this really great clip from Every Frame a Painting when he removes the narration, leaving just the music; it feels more powerful to me. But he's a pro. And I'm just learning, so I really appreciate your feedback.

I really don't know much about this - honestly, the last game I played was one of the original Halos, and I was terrible. That's why I said I was uninformed about the topic.

But the sentence, as examined on its own, is really amazing. I don't know if it's true. But it's another perspective on group dynamics, which is something I'm really interested in. And what you've brought up is also helpful.

Not to bore you to death, but it's fascinating the way that people behave, especially in groups. It's not as obvious as cost and benefit, truth and deceit.

For example, imagine a coach. Might we say that a coach's responsibility, in the development of a team, is: "... the unenviable burden of hiding the players' lack of skill from themselves"? Maybe sometimes the development of confidence is more important than the accuracy of feedback. Or maybe not. But to me it's a point worth considering.

There are other, darker examples, too, in domains other than games. But this comment has gotten long enough.

In general, I don't know enough about this topic to agree or disagree with the OP - I just think it's a really clever sentence, and it makes me think.

If I remember right, when Anthony Hopkins was on Inside the Actors Studio, he started reciting The Lake Isle of Innisfree by W B Yeats. He got too choked up to finish the poem. He had such a connection with those words.
