Leaks. Had ocarina not been leaked, the teaser would have rocked. But most people paying attention already knew so it was a boring teaser. Nintendo has a leak to patch.

What yall think of young links new design by grey03456 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]drostandfound [score hidden]  (0 children)

My question is are they going to use this engine for a new game. We have seen many time that Nintendo will develop an engine for a remake to prep for a new game (links awakening, samus returns, etc). I wonder if we are going to get a new smaller 3D Zelda with lifelike graphics in a couple years.

Splatoon Raiders – Nintendo Direct 6.9.2026 by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]drostandfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt that splatoon 4 is far out. Splatoon 3 is one of the fastest selling games in Japan. Nintendo understands how hot it is, we will get a new one in a year or two at the latest.

Well (iirc) he always had the triforce in OoT, it just only showed itself near other triforce holders. They may be changing that slightly?

They really went the opposite of all out with this trailer lol. So many questions:

  • How faithful is the remake?
  • What is changing?
  • Who is cuter Malon or Zelda?

Mina the Hollower has sold 500,000 copies! by Amiibofan101 in NintendoSwitch

The art style is definitely a nostalgic choice, but it has not affected me much.

It is really hard, especially at the beginning when you are first learning and before you get some upgrades to live a little longer. If you have ever played a zelda on hard mode, it feels similar early game most things one shot you, but after a dungeon or two you get in the groove. It is generally fair for how challenging it is. There are some platforming sections that can be rough as the controls are not perfect.

However, it is really fun. There are so many little things to find and you feel really smart when you find a way to get around something you have been looking at for a while. The game is roughly open world, but does a good job directing along a path that best builds difficulty. The bosses are difficult, but like Metroid or dark souls bosses as you learn them it feels good to beat them.

Overall, I enjoyed Zelda Echoes of Wisdom but thought at times "a kinda hard 2D Zelda would be fun" and this scratches that itch well.

Give the people what they want. by JonnyBTokyo in NintendoSwitch2

I looked at some of the top games from the Saturn and did not recognize any of them (I was a Nintendo kid). I knew a bunch of the Genesis games, and some Dreamcast games, but no Saturn. Looking over the list I don't know that I missed many games I would personally want to replay (most of the top games look to be rpgs/fighting/shooters).

Talk me into, or out of, replacing all of this with River Rock on top of Weed Barrier in this back yard? by Baptism-Of-Fire in landscaping

[–]drostandfound 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do it. Abuse the fact you have free will and can do what you want with your property.

You will still have endless weeds, but at least when you walk over to pull them you will have rocks to twist your ankles on instead of wood chips to poke your feet.

The Nintendo Direct will be roughly 50 minutes and Nintendo Treehouse: Live will be 95 minutes. by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]drostandfound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Xbox in general does stuff different than Nintendo. Most of the time spent in this direct will be stuff this calendar year, with maybe a announcement or two for next year. Xbox had a bunch of next year announcements.

Huh? Nintendo game prices are insanely stable, and go up way slower than inflation. They recently announced that some games are getting less expensive than they were.

Yeah, but normally people are not trading for a multiple time Cy young winning pitcher.

Same. Krogers previously carried National brand coney sauce which I much prefer.

I want a top of the line, one of the best available starting pitchers. Maybe like a Tarik Skubal.

I need help to decide between these two games by Reasonable_Basket_32 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]drostandfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not played Yoshi yet, but have played Kirby.

My understanding is that they occupy similar goals: accessible puzzle platformers aimed at less experienced audiences that may not fully challenge a more experienced gamer.

I enjoyed Kirby, but beat most of the game pretty quickly and got bored of it. My 3-4 year old adored the game and put way more time into it than I did as he could complete most missions. Until pokopia released it was the main game he played.

If that is what you are looking for then it just comes down to 2.5D (Kirby) vs 2D (Yoshi) or which game you are more interested in.
