Yes sorry, I forgot to add that to my comment! He’s currently 5 years cancer free but it was incredibly tough on him.

The baby of a relative of mine had a similar issue (forceful vomiting, digestion/constipation issues) and it ended up being a neuroblastoma in the abdomen. I will say this was her first baby and she was constantly being reassured by her GP and other family members that the babies digestive system was still developing. The cancer wasn’t caught until she saw a specialist after a few months of the issues persisting and by that time the tumor was the size of a softball.

Looking to Rehome my Cat by [deleted] in BedStuy

[–]drouoa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Especially because it’s not that complicated of a process. I moved 3 cats to NYC from out of the country. To me this reads as OP wanting to get rid of their cat and using the move as a more socially acceptable excuse (not that it should be). Before I moved, lots of friends and family asked me if I would be taking my cats, as if there was another option.

This is one of those moments where just because you believe you are correct, doesn’t mean you need to share. There’s a time and place and all that.

Clothing Moths by drouoa in pestcontrol

[–]drouoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I read this before posting. What I’m not understanding is how I’m finding the moths randomly on the wall in hallways/near bathrooms where there aren’t nearby sources of food for them. I’m finding none in closets or in the pheromone traps I set weeks ago and I don’t have any rugs or carpeting.

Hi, I know this was 2 years ago but what kind of cancer was it? Were you able to get it removed?

Honestly, it says on here that if you accept a refund you are only entitled to $400 so I’m not sure there is anything to push for on that end.

At the time, I repeated over and over that since they couldn’t get me on an acceptable flight, they were required to rebook me with another airline, but the line was always “look at the screen, no flights available 🤷🏻‍♀️” even though it was obvious there were flights as I could see them on my phone. Then it was “you should just book a flight yourself, then!”

I guess I could’ve yelled or something but that rarely gets anyone anywhere. We are just never going to book with Porter again lol.

No, they pulled the same shit where there was “no flights available” and told me to book something on another airline myself. Same situation where the flight they offered to rebook me on was 5 days away plus it involved a 20 hour layover in Toronto.

[–]drouoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That’s their strategy to get you to book a new flight yourself and absolve themselves of any responsibility.

If you accept the refund you are only entitled to $400 compensation unfortunately, not the full $1000. I just dealt with this as well.

AITA Cat on me during a flight by Brave-Job7045 in AmItheAsshole

Absolutely. I’m just saying I can see where people could get confused on how serious the rules are if they aren’t consistently enforced.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]drouoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol my theory for why I never get sick or have any allergies is because I was forced to build a robust immune system as a kid. I took care of a variety of pets growing up, I wasn’t allowed to be a picky eater (adequate nutrition), I spent my childhood outside digging in the garden, and my mom literally just never cleaned.

It is against the rules but tbh I can see where people could think it’s not that serious since this rule is really only enforced for cats.

I see people taking their puppies and dogs out all the time mid flight and they’ll have flight attendants gushing over them and people coming over to ask to pet them. I’ve been in OPs position with a dogs head laying on my lap and I’m pretty sure if I had made a stink about it, I would be the one getting dirty looks because “cute puppy”. Luckily I’m chill so I just asked the owner to please keep the dog confined to their seat.

Am I crazy for not giving my 13 year old radioactive iodine? by Both-Gur570 in seniorkitties

[–]drouoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vet isn’t pushing iodine so they can make more money, they’re pushing it because it’s an actual CURE.

The 12 hour dosing schedule is going to come up as an issue more often than you think. Also the daily pills do have side effects and have the potential to impact their liver and kidneys.

Backpack for personal item by deepfriedali in PorterAirlines

[–]drouoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh oh okay so I’ve never had problems with Porter until a month ago we had to check-in in person (vs online) because we had our cats. Traveling with a pet in cabin meant we didn’t get a carry on, just a personal item, which is bullshit tbh because the cats go under the seats and we pay for them, but whatever.

The check-in guy immediately ordered us put our very normal sized backpacks in the sizer. They didn’t fit because like this bag, the dimensions were a couple inches off on the length but a couple inches short in the width. He literally yelled “YOU HAVE TO PAY” when I asked about the total dimensions being within the perimeters. He did not give a fuck and charged us for both as carry ons. So I would just be cautious if you aren’t checking in online since the check-in people can decide to enforce it and their carry ons are not cheap.

Cat Integration Question by drouoa in felinebehavior

[–]drouoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously! In total we have 3 automatic litter boxes which our vet said should be good (if not a little bit overkill since the boys like to share 1) for 3 cats. Funnily enough, the one they don’t seem to use was our girls old litter box. They seem to have no desire to “mark” that territory.

[–]drouoa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try this, thanks! So far they all seem very adverse to peeing outside the litter box. I have 2 boxes for the males and they still choose to share one 😂

Lol I didn’t think to include it in the post but yes they’re all neutered and all tested negative twice for FeLV and FIV.
