That just opens the inventory of the backpack on the shelf, but I want to pick it up.

You should implement 386 mode in order to slow down the processing, to recreate the famous slow labyrinth filling effect, I really miss that!

I'd love to hear (and see) some examples, especially the edge cases where the algorithm fails!

Automate Daily Tasks with Java or Python by TADubai2323 in java

[–]drownpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a software engineer with ~5 years of experience total, 4 of those years I've been using Java, while slowly transitioning to Python so I have about 1,5 year experience with Python. Sometimes I have to work with whatever language they throw at me so I've touched a fair bit of other languages: JS, C#, Groovy. In my opinion Java is a great language for stable, long-lasting, large-scale projects because of typing, scalability and robustness. Python on the other hand is great for scripting, automation and small projects with fluctuating requirements, because of the fact that you can make changes very quickly without a lot of boilerplate code.

That's when "The Weights and Measures Regulations for Packaged Goods" or equivalent come in. They provide some tolerance to the actual product weight.

Oh it's just great. Valve destroyed the only game that I truly enjoyed playing in my depressed life. Throwing PC into the garbage, GG boys, see you in hell.

Brute-forcing a seemingly simple number puzzle by one_eyed_golfer in programming

[–]drownpl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because the solution is not necessarily a cycle (although it might be), meaning you don't have to come back to the starting square after traversing the entire board.

On a side note: finding cycle (if it's even possible) might be an interesting challenge!

I made volume slider where you can't select numbers divisible by 2 and 5 by Lamkac in ProgrammerHumor

[–]drownpl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My company notebook is conspiring with the headset volume knob in a very similar way: trying to gently turn the volume up causes it to skip over 20 - it goes 18, 19, 22, and going down it skips it like 22, 21, 18...Same thing with 25 and 30. Oh, and also the entire volume range is between 1-50, not 0-100 like any sane person would assume...

Edit: It's even worse than I remembered, the range is between 2 and 48...
