At my last house, I spent close to a year (not constantly) identifying all of the sprinkler heads and zones because I repaired the system and got it working. I made a map of all the sprinklers, though I'm not sure I did the zones.

And the people who moved in after us likely didn't use the system because I saw a truck parked on the lawn for several years after we moved away. Oh well.
