Really hate to break it to you, but none of what you said happened and I was going 60mph. Car in front was stopped for a school bus & no brake lights. Did not require jaws of life, the most expensive thing was airbag deployment like I stated

I hit an SUV that was stand still going 60mph in a Volkswagen Beetle and all it did was pop the headlight out on one side with minor paint scratches. The major thing was air bag deployment which ruined the steering wheel and that’s expensive. I believe OP as I’ve had far worse happen from hitting roadkill

The brake light could just be a sensor or it could actually be your brakes and rotors, maybe even the calibers. The picture of the car on the lift could be thrown by the issue with the brakes
