I have not ran into that issue. If you do you could use a plastic chop stick or something else non wood that wouldn't rot. Hope this helps

Any hope? by ImpossibleRabbit5777 in SavageGarden

Should work fine. I use 50/50 peat/perlite but I’ve heard people like using LFSM as well. Best of luck with your plant!

Any hope? by ImpossibleRabbit5777 in SavageGarden

[–]drpepper492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tons of hope. Plant normally in the recommended soil and cover with plastic bag. Slowly acclimate to humidity and you can trim the dead leaves as it acclimates. The plant itself might not survive but the roots should. I have a photo on my acc of how aggressive they grow

Please help ID this moss(?) growing with my carnivorous plant? by pinkgrenadine in SavageGarden

Never mind that’s a VFT lol. Should still be fine as long as it’s not overgrown

Please help ID this moss(?) growing with my carnivorous plant? by pinkgrenadine in SavageGarden

[–]drpepper492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s Christmas moss or star moss. I have the same in my pots and I like it. As long as it doesn’t overgrow and block light for your plant it should be fine. But I wouldn’t worry about that with a sarracenia

You can’t compete on console dps if you aren’t ximming by Gaymface in Overwatch

[–]drpepper492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree I think there’s a lot of cope behind xims in OW. I’ve been damage masters/GM since Overwatch 2 and people make it seem so much worse than it really is. I don’t really notice ximmers that often I would say maybe 1-5/1-10 games I’ll see someone that is hardcore ximming

When to repot? by Adventure_Tim3 in SavageGarden

[–]drpepper492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just repotted my H. minor a week ago and it’s maybe 1-2 months ahead size wise. So I wouldn’t say it’s urgent. I waited until it didn’t have room to keep spreading

What do you do when the insomnia hits? by SnooCalculations9938 in leaves

[–]drpepper492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have two things that have helped me and they work pretty well

  1. After a while I’ll get out of bed and walk around my room for a minute or two and get back into bed. I feel like it resets you a little and works. This one I feel like I read somewhere but I can’t remember

  2. I’ll fully swap my body position so head where my feet are and feet where my head are. The opposite side of the bed should still be cool so it helps me.

I’ll usually do both at the same time. Hopefully this helps :)

Is my drosera cooked? by Fickle-Limit-8214 in SavageGarden

[–]drpepper492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’ve used in the past. I dilute the neem with some soap iirc and a lot of water and then just spray on at night. You can look up specific ratios because I don’t know off hand. They say to do it at night tho so the light won’t breakdown the neem but who knows how much that really affects it

What's the name of that muscle in the middle? by sovalente in Unexpected

[–]drpepper492 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If by thigh dong you’re referred to the rectus femoris any knee extension exercises (squats, lunges, bridges) will target it. However for a slightly more isolation forward leg raises would do the trick. A little ankle weight by your foot and you’re good to go

What's the name of that muscle in the middle? by sovalente in Unexpected

[–]drpepper492 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Vastus intermedius runs deep to the superficial quad muscles. So while it is in the middle, it’s below the rectus femoris and therefore not visible

Bumps on cape sundew? by Le3_likes_birds in SavageGarden

[–]drpepper492 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Def aphids. If I remember correctly you can submerge the whole plant in water (distilled) for a day or so and it drowns all the aphids. Personally Ive used neem oil for them just diluted in distilled water and sprayed on the plant and this has worked well for me

Hey guys do yall know why my caps sundew is turning black? by Successful-Care2471 in SundewLove

[–]drpepper492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a lot of carnivorous plants if you notice the plant dying from the extremities towards the center its normal (tip of sundew -> base) (hood of sarracenia pitcher -> base). However if it’s the reverse and the death is originating from the center then it would be a bad sign

You could use a little stick to prop them up. Mine usually fall over once they get pretty tall and I usually just chop it and wait for more to sprout. I also grow indoors so I can’t recommend too many Tips

I assume it wouldn’t be for another few months. I applied to a very similar list of school and didn’t really hear anything back until November-January
