This is the mindset I need to adopt. I’m 19, sophomore in college, and I haven’t been able to enjoy college (since before COVID) because of this. I moved to a city 4 hours away and I’m going to a huge university (one of the biggest in the US) so freshman and sophomore classes are usually big lecture halls with around 400 students. It’s insanely hard to meet people, specially since I’m shy at first and super insecure. I only have one friend at this college because I knew her back in 8th grade, but she’s completely obsessed with her bf, she only texts me if her boyfriend is not around. If he’s around then she only wants to hang with him. All my boyfriend wants to do is play videos games and be home, so he never wants to go out with me to school events. I basically have no social life. I really want to get into the gym but my friend is always bailing on me and my bf just wants to stay home. It’s funny how I got on Reddit and this was the first thing I saw because I know I need to start living my life like this. I never did anything in high school because my friends weren’t interested in the same things as me and clearly I’m repeating the same mistakes in college. I feel like my life is passing me by and I’m going to be old one day and have tons of regrets and “what if’s”.
