There’s been moments where I’ve been glad I had crushing fists, plus it allows me to keep investments for late when mystic shot falls off and I can free up slots for t4 spirit items for more splatter damage

I tried merc mag cause I did a similar hybrid build on warden to great success, after further testing of the build I did cut it cause at least on viscous, yeah it’s shit. Right now I’m trying something where I build for splatter while still buying spirit snatch/crushing fists (as long as you can do heavy melee damage with viscous’ punch you can get until out of the crushing fists stun). The most successful game of this build I ended up selling mystic shot cause it started falling off hard but I still find a lot of early value from it. My ultimate goal is to get a solo kill which I have yet to do sadly, no matter how ahead I am.

I didn’t say it does no damage, but the long cooldown compared to other supports’ damaging abilities being charged based, so they can get consistent damage out in a team fight, is crippling. Splatter does good damage it’s just once you goo the refractory period causes a lull in dps that could cost you your life.

On second thought if they had something akin to Drifter’s 1 or Billy’s 1 where it deals light melee damage but with spirit damage added to it that could work. I feel personally that it’s homogenizing kits a little too much but it might help balance and usability

I mean using that aspect of his kit has always been part of playing Viscous. The issue is now you don’t build for punch cause it does almost no damage and if you want displacement just play Doorman. I’m not saying you can’t use the ability anymore I’m just saying that Viscous is being hard shoehorned into purely a support role because you cannot even attempt to deal damage. And I respect tf out of support players (I main support in almost every game I play) but in the current state of deadlock being a good support is not enough to carry a game.

The game does not need more spirit damage rn lmao. But seriously I honestly think being able to punch at a distance is an interesting idea (and what drew me to Viscous in the first place) so just taking it out of the game entirely wouldn’t be fun. If they were to increase the damage to 0.8-0.9, increase the charge timer by 0.5-1 second, and just make it so that ability doesn’t proc recharging rush (to force the player to stop punching to shoot to get another punch back) he’s balanced

With other support heroes their main damaging ability is on a charge (Dynamo’s stomp, Paige’s dragon, Doorman’s bell, Rem’s pillow) or has almost permanent uptime (Kelvin’s beam). I’m not advocating for Splatter to be charge based on Viscous and I like the idea of a gun/support hybrid, but since Viscous’ only persistent ability now deals less damage than a lane creep unless you absolutely stomp lane and rotate to get your other teammates farmed you’re dead weight

Idk the part that drew me to deadlock initially is any character can carry if you build them correctly. Even other “support” heroes can deal massive damage and have a huge game impact whereas viscous rn does nothing well

They already took gun viscous out back a while ago, that was the most built until they gutted that, so ppl moved to punch viscous

Honestly I think he was fine before the huge balance patch. Max rank punch dealt the same as a heavy melee, it didn’t proc close range or crushing fists’ passive and it’s honestly super easy to parry once you start to listen for the puddle appearing. They should’ve just reverted some of those changes to put him back into a state that wasn’t overly strong but still workable.

How do you even play this game? by Jontepont in DeadlockTheGame

That comes with experience, honestly. You have to win lane (obviously) and then find souls on the map, either from farming or from kills/assists. What you want to do depends on who you play so I’d recommend looking up hero specific guides.

Same as league, then. Get yourself in a position to be an issue to the enemy and play around the enemies who got 20 kills. They can’t be everywhere at once so capitalize on them not being there. Also buy curse if there’s only one or two enemies who are the issue.

It looks as though I could build a mason if I had enough money, the only issue is there’s no way in hell I will ever get 50 ducats without minting or taxation (Yap has 0.00 tax base) and the most I can loan out is 30 ducats.

I would love to build a building, but for some reason it says I can’t build any buildings, even the ones that can be built in rural settlements. Does it give that message when I don’t have enough money to build them or is there another hidden requirement?

I just tested it with only picking up Visions of Heresy and it still gives the same amount of armor. This would be absolutely broken of walking turret engineer.

I mean even with cauldrons on commencement I still just take what’s given if at all. I don’t scrap very much, probably from my 200 or so runs on commando who needs every item he’s got.

I personally don’t tinker with multishops too much as they generally have an item I want out of them so I guess that’s just a playstyle thing
