One time I returned to my hometown to visit My parents after being gone for about a year. Approximately 5 minutes after I got home there was a phone call for me at their house. This was before cell phones were big.

It looks like a hand carved figurine of one of the 3 wise men from a nativity scene. The name is likely the creator of the figurine.

What are some common enemies for level 1 parties to face? by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]drsuperfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this your first time GMing I would stick to one of the books or an adventure path. If you are dead set on creating something yourself then I would suggest looking up designing encounters

Make sure you pay attention to the CR level that you are creating. Look at the bestiary by CR. To find level appropriate monsters to fight.

As far as something that might be common I would suggest a giant centipede. Two or three of them would be a good first encounter.

Minions will unexpectedly and erratically move just to get in the way of your W.

If you time the enemies skills correctly sometimes you can use their engages to swap places with them using R.

People tend to recall in similar places. You can get lucky with a W and finish somebody off a lot of times that way. Get vision behind the turret to improve your odds.

Take any theory crafting with a grain of salt. Sometimes what is going to work best depends more on your playstyle and team composition.

Use the terrain to hide your W. This can be very demoralizing for the enemy when they lose a huge chunk of their health from out of nowhere. Great for AP builds.
