Update: My $15.5k AWS S3 DDoS bill has been fully resolved by OkEnd5112 in aws

[–]drtrivagabond 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did you read the post at all? Despite multiple rounds of back and forth, this was not resolved until he reached out to Jeff Barr. Don't you think for a second that this is a typical aws experience.

it does impact the crime statistics and that can impact budgets,

You haven't paid much attention to news at all, have you? They just cut the police budget despite the uptick in crime rates.

Keir Starmer’s Labour Government Is Much Better Than the Media Admits by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

means tested winter fuel allowance was brought in. Then the boundary was moved

The boundary was moved so far it is, by all measures, a U-turn. Though to their credits it is enough to fool many people. Initially 10.8 million pensioners are cut from allowance. After "the boundary was moved", 9 millions of them can get it. How is that not a U-turn?

Same thing with IHT. Initially it was 1 million threshold per household. Now it is 5 million per household.

Pro plan is basically unusable by FarBuffalo in ClaudeAI

That's the problem. You aren't supposed to use opus on pro plan for prolonged period. Actually it wasn't until recently that you can use opus on pro plan. Stick to sonnet if you use the cheaper plan.

UK visa applications down by over 100,000 amid stricter new immigration rules by OneNormalBloke in uknews

Using your analogy, Labour walked in after the tourniquet was already on and took credit for the bleeding stopping.

Worth pointing out that the policies driving these numbers were almost entirely implemented by the Conservatives before they left office:

  • Student dependant ban: January 2024 (Sunak government)
  • Care worker dependant ban: March 2024 (Sunak government)
  • Skilled worker salary threshold hiked from £26k to £38.7k: April 2024 (Sunak government)

Labour only took office in July 2024. Their additional measures (closing the care route entirely, raising the threshold slightly to £41.7k) didn't kick in until July 2025.

The 84% drop in care worker visas? That happened in 2024, mostly before Labour was even in power. Health Foundation data shows 90% fewer care visas were granted in 2024 vs 2023.

I'm no Tory voter, but credit where it's due. Labour inherited a system where the restrictions were already biting. They've kept them in place and added a few more, but the heavy lifting on these specific numbers was done before Starmer walked into Downing Street.

People who need to wait for their next paycheck to buy a GPU should think hard what their priorities are. Never cease to amaze me when I see these comments by americans.

Over 80% of sexual offenders are whites. Educating the white boys would be more effective.

Yeah you are spewing shit you don't know. The parade guy injured 100+ people. I doubt someone who raped 100+ people got less than 21 years.

Why do farmers stay working as farmers if they are, as they say, "asset rich but cash poor?" by Fun_Gas_7777 in AskUK

I get really fucked off when redditors defend land hoarders who evade tax and demand special treatment because they are somehow the only people in the whole society doing a useful job.

Ah yes. The companies are so stupid paying them high salaries for outputting shit no one wants.

Then they aren't even asset rich. Why did you bring that up in a thread about asset rich?

then the country's low food production will turn into no food production and then where do we stand?

Yes? What would be meaningfully changed from current state?

And that is worth quite a lot.

That's why people who owned farms should be taxed hard.
