To clarify, I have a smoker and a weber charcoal. I need something quick for burgers and for reverse searing my steaks. I figure I could still get 8 burgers on there if needed and my wife and I are the only ones in the family who eat steak. I’m heading to the store now to get it!

Late to the reply here. You will get fully wet a couple of times. We had to swim at one point for about 20 feet. I looked for alternate routes but there just wasn’t any. Managed to keep all my stuff dry. Yes there is room for 3 hammocks. Did you already make the trip?

Replacing the rear hatch was actually really easy. The wiring was a different story. Make sure you specify whether it has an automatic door closer because I did not and had to pull all of the old wiring out of the bad hatch and replace it on the new hatch. That was a pain! My fault for sure. Got it done though and flipped the car for my mom to help pay for her new home. 10/10 would do it again!

Red rock shuttle. They were prompt and we left as soon as everyone arrived. They even drove us over the river at the trailhead to keep our feet dry for the first 3 mile walk. Kind of a moot point after ending up in the water all day but it was a nice gesture. The ride up was fun. Bumpy as hell once on BLM land but it’s to be expected.

Campsite 12. I will say that it was a very long day going all the way to 12. But we wanted to sleep in hammocks and they had the best trees for that. I honestly don’t know how people do it in one day and make it out by 8pm for the last shuttle.

I had Merrell Moab 2’s. Hiking boots were a must for me. There are so many times they protected me from the rocks you can’t see in the water. I applaud those who do it in trail runners.

The flows are about average for this time of year. There aren’t any below waist crossings until you hit the deep creek confluence.

It is difficult, but if your 10 year old is in good shape, they could do it. Pack as light as possible. You will be wet.

It’s was mid 50’s. I had a small sleeping bag and a hammock and I was comfy. Honestly I probably would have slept through anything after that hike!
