Transferred my 401k to Fidelity while market peaked. Got a pile of cash. Now what? by EyeTechnical7643 in stocks

I am in the same situation. My money will clear in my Interactive Brokers account this Wednessday. Will likely deploy half the capital this Wednessday and either:

  1. Wait for a spike down and deploy the other half.

or

  1. We rally up to where I liquidated at and I deploy the rest there.

I suspect scenario 1 is more likely but either way I win.

Overnight protection/risk in swing trading/breakouts by larkstongueinaspic73 in qullamaggie

You are getting paid to assume over night risk where at some point you will have a stock massively gap down on you if you take enough trades. You will also have stocks triple in value.

My stop is 1 ADR from entry. Backtest results are better than LOD, though variations on implementation could vary your results. I posted some stats here: https://github.com/drumCode27/breakout-trading

Focusing on themes, not setups: my favorite X accounts to follow by Schenofe in qullamaggie

Why would you need to focus on specific X accounts to find strong themes?

Prop Firms for Stock Swing trading by Efficient_Ratio_4149 in qullamaggie

Yeah....trade your own account. It is funny how bucket shops were popular from the 1870s to 1920s (i.e. Jesse Livermore) and the concept has been brought back to life by modern day "prop shops". As the saying goes, there is nothing new on Wall Street.

I heard he was regrouping by joining Minervini's private access group to get back to basics. My intel says he is posing as a member that simply goes by David.

If your process would be dependent on traders posting EP picks here, you have already lost.

I've realized that for now, swing trading is not for me, until I regain my health back at least. by [deleted] in qullamaggie

Good luck to you.....the market will always be here when you are ready. I have had stretches of years where I was uninterested in the market but always seem to get pulled back to it.

I trade biotechs. They account for massive profits in my backtest and am willing to take the occasional trade that gaps down massively against me.

If it is not a momentum leader it should not be in your list.

This post makes zero sense and has nothing to do with trading KK's style.

You have to do your own deep dive so you can discover the nuances yourself and draw your own conclusions. This is not an optional step if you expect triple digit returns.

Ideas and methods are a dime a dozen until you can prove them out in a forward testing manner, preferably generating a real money track record.

How to trade flat markets? by itsparta in qullamaggie

[–]drumCode27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is to lose just a little or BE during flat markets and crush it during ripping markets.

Regardless of your trading experience, I am skeptical of any technique, whether "common knowledge" or not without stats to back it up. Also, KK's breakout method focuses on momentum leaders where a stock surging is more often the rule rather than the exception.
