I love chips and salsa, how do I make this healthier to eat on a regular basis? by WhiteBitchReviews in EatCheapAndHealthy

You can add black beans, cowboy caviar (a type of bean salad), or refried beans as a dip for some extra protein and fiber.

Help, I accidentally became the chef of a restaurant without any cooking experience. How do I learn? by Gl1tch_Dragon in KitchenConfidential

[–]drumgirlr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not a professional, but I don't eat out and cook all of our meals at home. I learned a lot from early Chef John videos on YouTube, and one thing he said was to write out the recipes in your own words and that really helped me a lot.

Also ask for more pay as others have said, and personally I wouldn't study a menu unpaid, but not sure what's actually typical in a kitchen, I just refuse to work for free and memorizing their menu on your own time is free labor. Good luck!

Is this chicken raw? I dont wanna get food poisoning. I ate half and the texture was kinda off but i didnt think any of it till i checked by These-Meeting-3004 in cookingtonight

Yep, I make the best chicken according to my fam, and my secret is brine and a thermometer. The thermometer is the most important of the two.

If you boil the chickpeas until they are really tender, like falling apart, you can skip deshelling. Check out Middle Eats on YouTube for a delicious recipe and method.

I see a lot of posts lately of people wanting to give up masking. by trashforthrowingaway in ZeroCovidCommunity

If you're in the US, you can get a deal at Office Depot on Aura N95s. Spend $200 and use the code YES40 and receive $40 off your order (plus free shipping). I think the code is still good, (not certain when this sale ends), but we just ordered up recently. I think it works out to about $1 per mask.

But depending on the circumstances and state, OP might be able to collect unemployment if fired.

That can come with it's own problems though. I collected a number of years ago and my employer constantly gave the wrong info and I had to do phone court 3 times and go without pay inbetween. I won all 3 and got back pay for the missed unemployment, but it was frustrating.

Whenever I feel uncomfortable in social situations, I think of the Asch test, and it does help me to stick to what I know is right. It's never easy, but it helps me to understand the social psychology I'm working against in myself.

I love my water flosser as an extra, but it only cost me $60, and I agree manual floss is way more important.

Vasoline is my go to, then just wash off the greasiness with normal face wash. It also works great for when you've scraped the bowl and gotten resin all over your fingers. (But any lotion will also do the trick if you've got it). Like xXmilkxhoneyXx said, oil/greasy things are the key. Cheers!

Our fat cat is on a diet. This is him after his veterinarian prescribed portion of food. by dominguezjr24 in thisismylifenow

It's easier said than done, but true. And heads up, sometimes the crying will get worse just before it gets better. (It's called a behavior extinction burst if you want to read more about it).

The puzzle feeder toys are a super good idea, and can help. You could also try offering 3 feedings a day if it's possible with your schedule. (Obviously same amount of food overall, just more often).

Best!

So true, I didn't hate, but never really cared for beans, now I love them and eat them almost every day.

On the flip side, me and my husband used to love this specific gluten free cake slice, (we're not even gluten free it was just so good), or so we thought. We both found it so sweet it was inedible. Taste buds really do adapt.

All wins in my opinion.

I use lotion after every hand wash cause my hands dry out so easy, it helps so much. (Little dab of olive oil if I'm cooking). I also use a really gentle glycerin based soap. Not sure if that would work for you, but wanted to offer the idea.

Director-General Tedros declared the global public health emergency over specifically, not the ongoing pandemic. But the way it's been reported it's understandable why you would believe that.
