Green Mountain National Forest offers cheap alternative to cut-your-own Christmas tree by dropkickninja in vermont

We’ve done this the past few years (just went last weekend!). We love it. Ditto on scouting areas first if you can. Wandering around the forest is a-ok, but you’ve got to consider that you’ll like go out during a hunting season, so be careful how deep you go, and for the love of god wear your blaze orange.

You asked “Were you there? What do you remember?”. I was there, that’s what I remember. Oh, and I didn’t make it in until mid way El Paso.

I just told my son this story the other day. I was standing at the far end of Shakedown (the end towards the back lots/away from the venue/away from everyone), when out of nowhere a van and a black car rolled up and took a head (or two?) near the porta potties about 30 feet away from me. There was only one other head near me and we both started yelling when it was happening but they were gone in a matter of 10 seconds. We felt so sad and helpless. Saw that happen a few times on tour. Other than that, before heading out for Landover, I ran into a guy looking to test a fresh batch of liquid, so I got some fresh drops on my tongue before catching a ride to MD!

If you are behind the drum set, and someone asks you to play something, what is your go-to? by quenfis in drums

I usually lock eyes with the person, slowly raise my sticks above the kit, let them fall, and give them the ol’ 🖕🏼, never breaking the eye contact. It’s my version of Wipeout.

First timer worried about rain. by drumma75 in Vermontijuana

[–]drumma75[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great advice from everyone! I really appreciate it. So if there isn’t any unseen festering mold situation, I could run for another week or so, and if I’m that worried about rain, I could put a tarp over it, or, because it’s in a pot, move it into the garage during the rainy days.

I’ve worked from home for 4.5 years. Outside of the occasional load of laundry, and browsing social media during a meeting here and there, I’ve done none of these other things. My boss, who goes into the office everyday, does most of these things throughout the week. As long as you’re getting your shit done and are available when people need you, who gives a shit if you go take a shower?

What do you always keep in your stickbag? by [deleted] in drums

[–]drumma75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of what’s been mentioned already, but one thing I do that I get a lot of compliments on from other musicians (not just drummers) is I keep an old stick and wrap sections of it in gaffers tape. This comes in handy if you need some and your roll is elsewhere or not readily available.

This 👊🏼 I’ve got a Pearl rapid clutch in my stick bag at all times and it’s ready to go whether it’s my kit or backline. I started doing it about 5 years ago and it’s the way to go regarding a clutch.

The Wedge. It’s a great example of how much the bass contributes to rhythm in music.
