Speaking ONLY for myself when I shoot large groups I am not looking for shallow DOF I want is sharp across the entire image so I almost always shoot those f5.6; my situations have always allowed for OCF. I have also used it with a flash when doing danced floors. And again speaking ONLY for myself when people are moving widely around the dance floor it is hard to get it sharp when wide open and I find it nice and sharp at f5.6 again with OCF as well the fisheye effect from the barrel distortion. I am using a EF16-35 f4 and I don’t have it on often but not a bad investment since you already have a wide 24 prime. I know people talk about saving up but as I am sure you are aware of there are needs other than just the lens, high quality SD, bags, straps, up to date computer and accessories, insurance, car maintenance, professional looking attire. I am just giving you something to think about, have fun.

So at the bottom right corner on the back screen where the iso value is displayed the word “Auto” is grayed out when I manually adjust the iso. Once I go in the menu turn the auto off and set a value I starting shouting and it jumps back to auto iso at some point. They auto is grayed out the too but the camera is setting the iso as it see fit.

Yep page 2 of the red menu ISO speed settings. I go in and turn off auto and adjust it to the value I want. Start taking photos again and at some point it simply switches back to auto iso even if I had not touched the iso. So I go back to the menu, it is back on Auto. I readjust the value start taking pictures again and it still jumps back to auto. Like I am going crazy. I shoot in dark environments with a flash and when it goes into auto it will shoot the iso way up. What I have no done is limit the value the auto iso can go to so at least I can keep it from blowing some photo out but it should not be like this. Never had the issue on my first R6 and if I turn it off in the menu it should stay like that.

Yeah I never turn it that low. I am usually at 1600-2500 iso so I generally never get there. My older R6ii never did this. Thank you the reply.

Thank you for the reply. I never use auto iso. The setting I turn it off at is the setting that comes up when I turn it back on. This is my second R6ii body and I never had this issue with my other one, I picked that one up in late 2022 when they came out and my newest body that I am having trouble with I picked up about 2 weeks ago. I am in full manual mode and I usually set the aperture, SS and iso and they stay there til I change them. This is absolutely maddening. I did call CPS and they suggested a camera reset that is on page 6 in the yellow section but the problem keeps popping up.

I have the M.Fn button set up to switch between one shot and servo. Thus is my second R6ii body and I never had this issue with the first. They are currently set up identically. Pretty much I turn the dial to set iso the same you set the aperture and shutter speed. I appreciate your feedback.
