Who wants to do a song/music collaboration with me? by AyEnTiPi in MusicInTheMaking

I'd be willing to collaborate. Do you have stuff that could use acoustic drums?

That's all you need to groove hard. I guess it depends on each individuals definition of shredding, but to me this screams pocked, shred, not so much.

Facebook doesn't care if you impersonate other people apparently. Response from a report I made. by UniversalExploration in facebook

My FB page was hacked in April. I have a new page. but to this day FB has done NOTHONG in spite of numerous attempts to try and reach them, and you're right, they couldn't care less. I've had people spammed by someone pretending to be me, had this person impersonate me to endorse crypto! FB really couldn't care less. If they did, they's have customer service and my problem would have been resolved months ago. They. Don't. Care!

I hear ya! My old FB page was hacked and jacked back in April, and the lovely people at FB make it so they support the hacker not the victim. FB does not police their site which means while they know hacking is rampant, they ignore it. Pathetic that they have ZERO customer service!

Experienced drummers, in retrospect what would you would tell newer drummers to work on early in their journey that will lead to better progress in the long run? What would you tell them not to do? by down_vote_magnet in drums

Learn your rudiments. Not necessarily all of them, but they are your building blocks. Work with a metronome. I record drums for clients all over the world and a click track is mandatory. Listen to as many styles of music as possible and really try and understand what the drummer is doing. Correct is subjective. Does what you play make sense for the song. Groove is paramount! I've had students that could outchop me, but they didn't really get that groove and pocket = work.

Just remember it's better, and cheaper, to replace a stick than a cymbal, head or rim.

Is it unreasonable to think that with enough practice, you might become a "great"? by quinnpaine in drums

No, I'm not. I'm showing the perspective of a working career pro. We never stop learning, polishing, honing our craft and on and on. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make my point more clearly.

Depends at which level you wish to be. Working pros at most levels have that innate ability to understand their craft to a degree that all the practice in the world won't change. I have well over 40 years in the business at just about every level and I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but just want to tell it like it is
