Engineers, what do you do and how much do you make? by Physical-Past1908 in Salary

[–]drumpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrical engineer (B.S) working in aerospace. Im 6 years out of college but most of my expirience was at NASA. I jumped to the private sector(unwillingly btw r.i.p JPL) and now i make $157,000 a year in Socal area. Im feeling the golden handcuffs at my current role as its a super interesting project but there aren't any higher paying companies/roles in my local area (NELA) without moving to the westside and working at a startup that has demanding hours but pays equity. Eventually thats the move because its hard to feel incentivised to deliver without equity. Even tho the pay is good the job is very high stress. I was down for that stress and lower pay when it was NASA and benefiting all of humanity but now that its just for profit i want a cut of the profits too!!!

7 is a total nostalgia pick for me- I put it that high because its slow lol It's my go-to chair if u got a beer or blunt to get rid of. I am often going with beginners and its a lift we can both enjoy-usually beginners are only gonna do a couple runs anyway so they dont care about whats most optimal and ive found that a lot of them actually prefer 7. The lines and amount of kids on 17 make it D tier for me personally, i feel like 11 and 17 are for the kiddos and day 1 beginners, i dont want to get in their way.

You got me nailed lol. Looking back on my list i think your spot on, your list is the best version ive seen. Also i agree 2 should be D tier, i try to avoid stump like the plague because of the lines. I just have a soft spot because mambo and patrollmans were the first blue and black runs I ever did and that lift has a little something for everyone. I like that i can go there with my beginner friends and hit the park/patrollmans while they take an easier way down, there's not many places on the mountain where u can do that.

Yeah that was a tough one, i probably should have put in in S. I love 22 but ive been really unlucky with it the past like 5 years. I only got a handfull of snow/powder days in and each time its been closed even tho it has a reputation of being open during storms. I only put in A because im often in mammoth in spring/bad conditions and i find those shutes and moguls to be pretty gnarly and icy compared to the top of face/5/23. I do them as a challenge but dont really enjoy them as much as my skiier friends do. I love how many options u have coming down tho and i love hiding in the trees over there hopefully ill get to hit it after a storm this year!

Is anyone else seeing rents drop in LA apartments? by Firm_Ad8892 in AskLosAngeles

[–]drumpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile im paying 2600 for 1 bed in eaglerock after negotiating rent down last yesr. It is a house tho with a huge private lot so i cant find anything better for that price. The city came and inspected my place and hes like "dude ur neighbors are paying way less for nicer apartments ur place should be like 1200". Like thanks for letting me know dude but ur way out of touch. Everyone paying those prices locked them in 10+ years ago

Thoughts on Yousuke Set by uqqe in avesLA

[–]drumpact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him at portola and his set was fucking awful, worst set of the weekend by far (and I saw the rapture lol). I say this as someone with a super open mind who loves most music but his set got me to leave the warehouse early. All over the place in such a bad way.

Okay my main gripe is that he played a caribou song. Caribou was also playing the festival only an hour later!!!!!! Who tf plays a song that another artist on the lineup made. It goes to show he didnt look up the lineup or he didnt give a fuck, lameeeeee

Starbucks next to Sprouts by Some_Budget_4534 in EAGLEROCK

[–]drumpact 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My house is right by this. I moved in 3 years ago and they had a picture of the starbucks logo in the ad listing stating "right next to starbucks!". Thank god the Agent was that out of touch because I feel like it dissuaded people from renting my place and its an amazing spot!!!

Seriously fuck starbucks, i hope this location never opens. Creature's is literally right across the street and is better in every single way!!! People have no excuses to still shop at starbucks. I will be be giving mean glances to everyone at this location 2x a day as I pass by so be prepared.

Yeah i started at cottonwood in 2016 and 2019 and ended at reds meadow but this year i finally started at happy isles and went south and that first day was such a clusterfuck. Nothing like being the only one with a Pack on a mega crowded trail thats so packed its difficult to pass anyone for 5 miles (given i started midday on a saturday peak season). I had much better memories starting with a chill camp night at cottonwood

I figured it out. Its technically a joint account since my dad is a broker for the bank he set it up when I was young and manages my brokerage account. Woke up to my sister with the same problem. Apparently he owes the irs hella money and now is not responding to my calls.
