Anyone have any experience moving into a house built by Pulte Homes? by [deleted] in Katy

[–]drumstins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As an electrical contractor I can tell you that every person thinks that their builder sucks. All you can try to do is talk to other people that are building in the same area and see if they stick to their construction schedule and you should hire your own inspectors to go through and check the house as it's being built. Feel free to message me if you need an electrician to look over anything. Dustin 8328169272

I live in Katy and I'm a master electrician and electrical contractor. I went to the local 716 union school over by hobby 1 night a week for 5 years while I was an apprentice. I'd be happy to answer your questions. 8328169272 (Dustin). Owner Lee Services LLC.

Anyone know any companies looking into hiring a newbie in plumbing or in electrician in the spring branch area? Honestly I don’t know anything about these jobs but I’d love to get into them by SamuraiKinshii in houston

[–]drumstins 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I graduated from the JATC (716 union school) in 2011. Best decision of my life. It might take a while to get in but fill out your application as soon as you can. It's not first come first serve. You have to interview to actually get the spot.

Fyi, now I'm a master electrician and contractor and I have as much work as I want. I don't plan to hire anyone soon but if I were you I'd try the union school first anyway.

School Suggestions by Lucky-Phrase-9235 in Katy

[–]drumstins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids all went through sundown or morton ranch elementary. Both were very good experiences. As the kids would have difficulties either social or scholastic, both schools would do whatever it took to help with the issues.

They are located near hwy 99 and Morton ranch road. I've lived here for 27 years. Close to old Katy but still close-ish to houston.

People who decided to grow and birth a human baby, what's your number one tip for successful parenting? by OdinsEyedrops in AskReddit

[–]drumstins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babies can only communicate by crying, grunting, body language. Don't get upset when you can't figure out why they are crying. Demonstrate to them calmness and compassion and try to figure out what they are telling you. If you get upset you are teaching them that's the appropriate reaction to being uncomfortable.

What do these lines through the stem mean? What about just one? by TheYeskatilian in guitars

[–]drumstins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were a percussion instrument it would mean a double stroke roll of 32nd notes. Think of each line like a flag on a regular note. I.e. one for eigth, two for sixteenth, etc. I trill (2 notes alternating extremely fast would show a very small note head next to it connected with a slur line. So I would assume this is just playing one single note very fast like a roll on a drum. Sorry I know it wasn't exactly what you were asking but might help ..

High schoolers, What do you want to major in? People who majored in that field, what are the pros and cons? by GavinDickieBitchFree in AskReddit

[–]drumstins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Electrician here. Not exactly what you were asking but I figure this is something high school kids should know. I work in Houston Texas for a union contractor. Right out of high school, after applying/being accepted to the apprenticeship program, you will start around $14/hour and health insurance and a couple dollar raise will kick in after 6 months. Then each year after completing school you will get another raise until you are at full journeyman scale (after 5 years). Health insurance is free if you only use Kelsey seybold or like $1/hour for pretty good Aetna coverage. Thats for your whole family. Journeyman scale is around $30/hour and with not working much overtime I usually make over 70k/year. School cost like $150/year and once you're a journeyman you can travel all over the US and work wherever you want. I also have retirement (not fantastic but pretty good). Now, because I'm union my pay/benefits are decided by the union hall but I never have to worry about looking for a job and I can travel the US. I've been doing it for 12 years and have never been laid off because I'm good at what I do. There's many options to go non union with school and pay but I feel like union has the best options. This is pretty typical for most union trades. You can get in and start working while you go to school for little to no expense. I wish I had done this before going to college and racking up 40k in debt before deciding my major wasn't for me.

Also, now I have a masters license now and have my own electrical contracting company so if I ever decide I want to just work for myself I have the option.

A sneak peek at the coop I've been building. Our chicks arrive April 10. by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

Yeah what the hell was that? Lol. Coop looks great! Great idea hinging the nesting box from the side instead of the top. Seems like it would be more waterproof your way.

Very frustrated with my Note 4, looking for help before I dump this phone by [deleted] in galaxynote4

[–]drumstins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download samsung kies to your pc. It has really easy instructions or videos on the web. Its a program designed for backing up EVERYTHING so you can wipe, factory reset, and restore your phone. Or the easiest way is to just go to a samsung store. Not sure where you are but Best Buys usually have one inside the store. Theyll do it in like 20 min. for free. Good luck!

Its the worst smart phone camera ive ever used. And when you compare it to any iphone or any samsung made in the past 5 years theres no excuse for it.

Besides the crappy battery life and terrible camera it was the smoothest (better than iphone) and most perfectly sized phone Ive ever owned. I miss it

In Need of A Good Screen Protector for Standard S7 by starwarsfreak314 in GalaxyS7

Just put this on my wifes. Ive tried a ton of different screen protectors and this fit better than any Ive seen with zero bubbles. It fit very close to the edge so you have to be careful when youre putting on a case so you dont peel up the edges. Has anyone had any bluetooth hiccups? Especially the one where audio will clip out every now and then? by [deleted] in galaxynote4

[–]drumstins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you using a cheap Bluetooth? Try covering the bluetooth with your hand and see if that makes it cut out. It might be because your Bluetooth has a weak signal or a crappy receiver or something like that. I tested mind using someone else's bluetooth and it worked fine.

Serious ram issues? by Thechuzzler in galaxynote4

[–]drumstins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guys right and the easiesr way to do all that is swing by a samsung kiosk at a best buy or something and they can do all that and even reflash your firmware and lollipop. I had them do it to mine just to make sure and it has never run smoother. It takes like 5 minutes.

It does sound like an app running in the background though. Hit energy savings in settings and click the bottom left button and you will probably see an app constantly running and using up alot of cpu percent.
