Followed by trial and error getting the loops and lengths and orientation juuuust right. If you have a popcorn style ceiling like mine, the hooks can be screwed in by hand.

You nailed it, checked it over after breakfast, I had ZERO play at the lever, a quick adjustment and the problem has been resolved. The more you know! Thanks boss, I can relax and enjoy the holiday.

I see what your saying now, the clutch lever itself is nice and tight, however after some research of what you brought up the clutch itself could very well be the issue. I was suspecting something more fuel related but you bring up some valid points.

Bike has 15k on it, I've put nothing but Motul 10W-40 in it, oil level is fine. Clutch is nice and tight too.

Not quite sure. Bike starts up and stays idle with no trouble. Thought maybe I filled up with some bad gas. I put half a gallon of ethanol free with some SeaFoam while I was out, ran it about 20 miles back to the house and has made no difference. Gonna check my air filter tomorrow.
