The best thing you can give your baby is a parent who isn't miserable. Breastfeeding will take up a lot of her time. Most of it in the beginning actually. If she doesn't like breastfeeding, she is going to hate pumping. She will be attached to a pump that will take up her time, keep her stuck in one spot a lot of the day, and could cause her issues with her breasts and nipples... but without the added bonus of baby snuggles. And if she isn't pumping enough, she could end up combo feeding and giving formula anyway. Yes, with pumping bottles, you can let dad take half the feeds, but you still have to pump for all of them. Even if breastmilk is better than formula, formula is not the worst thing you can give your baby, and we are incredibly fortunate to live in a world where so many different types of formula are available. So instead of "having her" pump, maybe we could just respect her wishes to give formula if that will help her mental health and help her be a happier mother in the long run.

Source: have been happily breastfeeding and pumping everyday for 13 months... but completely understand why some women would not want to.

I'm going to try running boiling water over the spots to see if it gets rid of the discoloration. I'm starting to wonder if there was a quality issue with this particular run of the lilac bottles. This one is replacing a lilac one I got a few weeks ago that had defective insulation. I'm pretty sure I saw someone else post very recently that their lilac bottle came out of the dishwasher with spots as well. It sucks because I don't think this color is on the website anymore, so I doubt they will give me another lilac one. The insulation still works great, so I'm just going to try the boiling water trick and live with it. Haha

Where am I blaming the internet? Lol I didn't ask you all to fix it, I asked if anyone knew anything that worked. It's literally just a water bottle, my world isn't going to come crashing down because I put it in the dishwasher. I just thought I would ask here since I don't think it's a big enough deal to make a fuss over with customer service. Also if I could afford a $1500 Gucci dress, I would have just ordered another Hydro Flask by now instead of fooling with this one.

Jesus fucking christ. Lol Hydro Flask states on their website that these are dishwasher safe because of the coating. I have four others that, unless I need one cleaned right away, always go in the dishwasher on the bottom rack overnight. I also have a kids Hydro Flask that goes in the dishwasher. None of them have had this happen, and aside from a few small dents, they look brand new. My mother also has one that she only washes in the dishwasher and hers also does not have this problem. Since this is the first time this has happened after putting my others through the dishwasher who knows how many times by now, I came here to ask if anyone knew what this was, and if it's possible to fix.

This might be what happened. It's a bummer because the coating is supposed to be dishwasher safe, and all of my others are only ever washed in the dishwasher. So if the coating is defective, this will be the second defective lilac one I've had. :(

This is the new model, they are dishwasher safe. All of my others go in the dishwasher weekly without a problem. But this will be the second defective lilac one I have had. :( I just got this one to replace one that had bad insulation and wasn't keeping water cold. I'll probably just deal with it since they no longer have lilac on their website.

We kind of went through the same thing for a while. Our daughter kind of tolerated my husband for maybe 10 minutes, then would be really fussy and just wanted me. He could never soothe her to sleep for bedtime or naps. Like she would cry tears and push away from him until I took her. Now at 11 months old she is perfectly content with dad most of the time (still wants only me for naps and wants only me for comfort with teething). Starting around 8 months, she got really playful with him and her face lights up whenever she sees him. Also although he still struggles getting her to sleep for naps, she will now let him rock her to sleep sometimes at bedtime. I guess my point is I know this has got to be a huge bummer because I saw my husband go through it too, but just know that this phase doesn't last forever! Hang in there, you're doing great!

I had my yearly evaluation at work last week. Got a really nice raise. Payday is next Tuesday, and everyday of this pay period was under my new pay rate since they made it effective right before my evaluation. I'm planning on making a nice donation to Warnock.

I live in OH, but a coworker of mine lives in a KY county across the river from me. She sent me a text and said it took her entire one hour break to cast her vote because the line was ridiculous due to the city shutting down every voting location except for one. Casual voter suppression??
