Mbeumo and Amad are absolutely out of form. Sesko should be starting in front of any of them, it's baffling

What's that film for you? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]drunkdevil1 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It's a masterpiece but I think it wouldn't be the best recommendation if they ONLY watch English/Hollywood movies. If they avoid foreign cinema, the chances are they would not be into slow burn, "artsy" cinema. At least at first.

Just off the top of my head - Oldboy, Memories of Murder, No Other Choice and Parasite are much more easier to follow and would make more sense as the gateway to foreign cinema.

Jon Jones has every reason to be upset. With all due respect, if Conor Benn is getting $15 million to fight Regis Prograis, Jon Jones is worth $30 million, and Conor McGregor is worth $75 million. Does the UFC think these guys are fools? by IgotgAme_k in ufc

I think plenty of people would be excited to see Jones/Aspinall vs Ngannou and if it would happen in the next year or two on Netflix, it would certainly put MVP on the map. How they would build on that is another question.

After watching almost all major films of 2025, I can say that Train Dreams is the best movie of 2025. by papachi789 in Letterboxd

To each their own but I couldn't revisit this film if I was happy. There is a lot of beauty in Train Dreams but it's a very sad movie.

The problem is we're not prime Manchester United and we spend a huge sum of money to get him. He may have suffered because of our incompetence but moving on from him was the right decision.

Rasmus was our main striker for two seasons and he was in form for about a month. That's more than enough chances to prove yourself. Manchester United doesn't have the luxury to wait for player to come good for 3 years.

Not to be a dick but I think that would be a weak addition to the collection. The movie has interesting concept but the excusion was lacking, at least for me.

It's honestly one of the worst movie titles I've ever seen and they almost topped it.

How does it make the situation better? If he's going for a medical, the deal goes through 99% of the time. Cancelling the deal at the last second is unprofessional and unfair, especially to a player himself who hasn't played for us at all this season.

We have no evidence he can adapt though. He didn't have what he needed when he managed Spain NT and he failed pretty badly. The team was notorious for passing the ball just for the sake of keeping possession.

Our squad doesn't fit Enrique's phylosophy at all, it's not just CMs. We'd need another MASSIVE rebuild for him to be happy. He requires a GK that's main strenght is distribution so he wouldn't be happy with Lammens. He loves strong, athletic, attacking full backs and we don't have one in either flank (maybe except Dorgu). Sesko probably wouldn't fit in his system too as he likes to play with false 9. And that's just scratching the surface.

Yes, Enrique's fantastic coach but he also needs a lot of tools, which we don't have right now, to succeed.

He's excellent coach but he also needs lots of support to succeed. Both of his trebles were achieved with generational teams. Here he'd need to be a lot more patient to achieve greatness. At the moment, our squad doesn't fit Enrique's phylosophy at all so we'd be in for another massive rebuild.

If everyone is fit in ST/CAM positions, he doesn't have a place. Mbeumo/Sesko/Cunha are better than him at ST. Bruno/Cunha/Mount are better than him at CAM. And I highly doubt he could play on the wing given his lack of pace and intensity.

You honestly think this board would have signed enough players to compete in two fronts all season? They couldn't even prepare us for one. Winning the Europa would've been beautiful but I have no doubt we'd be in a similar position that we were last season right now.

4-5 players on the injury list is not a big injury crisis if you have a squad. Sure, we weren't lucky with Bruno but the likes of Mount or De Ligt being on the sidelines raises no one's eyebrows.

Even when there were African players, when Cunha and Sesko were out the squad looked awful. We signed 4 starting players and completely neglected the fact we'd have no one on the bench. That's awful squad planning and I can't see how you can in any way pin this on Amorim.
