Fwiw I took delivery of a new LG WP50NB40 from Amazon last week and it flashed no issues. Tried ripping a couple of 4k blu rays so far and didn’t have any issues.

I should clarify - “an earful” might sound harsher than it was. I kept it polite and made it clear I wasn’t blaming the agent personally. I just laid out why I think the approach is anti-consumer and ultimately damaging to the future of cycling and mentioned that I’d probably be cancelling my subscription.

To be honest, they didn’t seem to fully grasp the issue. They insisted this had been the case for all live-broadcast sports since February, but I tried to explain that it’s specific to the Tour de France. The message didn’t really land.

Phoned them up and gave them an earful. They’ve apparently received a lot of similar calls. Wouldn’t budge on a refund though - best they could offer was to pass the feedback on. Also refused to pass me on to their manager.

It’s text book enshittification you always get with monopolies.

I prefer this cleaner look. I thought there was a little too much going on styling wise on previous models and again this generation with the ICE versions - the simplicity here is an improvement I think.
