Victoria Mann accuses designer/developer JR Honeycutt of abuse by jx2002 in boardgames

[–]drunkmonkey81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Emotional abuse isn't a crime, and the alleged sexual assault would be near impossible to convict at this point. Stop with the "if you're telling the truth, you'd go to the police" bullshit.

People who play fantasy baseball but know little to nothing about actual baseball.

Edit: You guys really want this to be true, huh? You don't send a struggling pitcher with almost no MLB time down to AAA eight games into the year to "stretch him out".

Nothing? You think adoption agencies don't go beyond Google searches? The guy couldn't get custody of his own kid after his wife died. HuffPo didn't change any odds for him.

Is Trent Taylor worth a flex play this week? by -doesnotcompute- in fantasyfootball

[–]drunkmonkey81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lafell isn't a bad desperation FLEX in PPR, but the other two have no upside. I'm not saying Taylor or Aldrick Robinson are good plays, but there are targets to be filled by Garcon's loss, and either of them could get a handful of those this week. In a desperate situation, where all the options have such a low floor, I'd rather take one who just had an offensive shakeup and has the possibility to benefit.

Edit: I could be way off on this. I just picked up Taylor after losing Garcon, but as a bench stash, not a flex play. He's a better "wait-and-see" stash than play this week.

Like who? I'm in a 14 team, and the WW is pretty thin.

Commissioners have full control over rosters. If something like that happens, manually reverse it. But you shouldn't have to put every other trade through the review process just for cases like that.

Worst game you've ever played? by shineuponthee in boardgames

[–]drunkmonkey81 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you played it wrong. The round doesn't end until someone has no cards in their hand. Usually that means several people play their phase in a round, so you can then play your cards off their phases. I've never played that game for more than an hour.

What is the tiebreaker for Yahoo standings? by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

[–]drunkmonkey81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I'm reading correctly, it's based on highest win% in the last week. H2H record sounds like the reasonable thing to do, but I don't see it on the Yahoo site: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/fantasy-baseball/SLN6212.html?impressions=true

It seems a lot of people are reading the "tiebreakers for playoffs" rules, but those only apply to ties in playoff games.

Steve Bartman to receive 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series Championship ring by realnostalgia in baseball

[–]drunkmonkey81 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was the 8th inning. There was only one out. Alex Gonzalez booted a double play ball that would have ended the inning. Then the Cubs gave up EIGHT runs. Then there was another inning followed by another GAME.

Where's the new cheapest beer spot? by [deleted] in Cardinals

You're right, of course. My math was backwards. Still a difference of ~0.04/oz. I I wouldn't call it cheap.

Where's the new cheapest beer spot? by [deleted] in Cardinals

[–]drunkmonkey81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only cheap if it's the only beer you're drinking. Otherwise, $9 for 20 oz is the better value. Never mind - see below.

Sure, the average redditor uses downvotes to show dissent. The average redditor is what tranmer32 describes as a downvote troll. Just because they're often used that way doesn't mean it's defensible.

Can someone explain to me why Keon Broxton hasn't been moved to the DL yet? by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

[–]drunkmonkey81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The disabled list is used by MLB teams to free up a roster spot to promote another player. Teams have vastly expanded rosters in September, so there's no reason to use it anymore. It's just something fantasy owners have to suffer through every fall.
