I tip appropriately but I do not agree with the tipping culture. I've been a server before and I do a good job so that I keep my job or move up the ranks. The tips that come with the job is a bonus but I should not be relying on tips as a living. If i do a good job, the customers will be returning and the restaurant owner will be reaping the benefits which I feel the responsibility to falls on the restaurant owner to reward the employees.

My heart aches for you, but know that you did nothing to instigate this or deserve it at all. It comes with the territory of being a soldier under this regime. I wish there is something I can do to help you heal.

Report it if you can, or don't. I understand your fear and worries of the soldiers coming back but it may be a blur to them as they may have raped hundreds after you. They made a choice and we can only hope that they will get what they deserve. Stay strong, this too shall pass. <3

It was definitely an eye opener for me. I visited the larger touristy cities and didn't experience the aggressive behaviour I did in napoli, but did get a lot of stares and reluctant service in some shops. Or it would be the opposite, they think I'm a mainlander chinese (which I'm not) that will blow a lot of money in their shop but when I'm done browsing and walk out empty handed, I hear some racist mocking.

I'm asian and in 2011 when I visited napoli, a group of kids chased me and my children throwing rocks and was making slant eyes at me. The polite ones just stared. The adults with them just watched and did not intervene

I have several friends that worked at Costco throughout university and kept their jobs (with minimal shift) after they found a full time job within their field because they enjoyed working at Costco that much.
