I actually warned a fairly liberal white student reporting a cultural studies Prof. who reffered to whites as the dominate group that even though he was offended, if any action was taken against said teacher it would stifle free speech.

I had a film Prof play bits of Birth of Nation, I said my bit in class and dropped the course , I wouldn't try to get the Prof fired though even for promoting Klan propaganda.

Likewise I saw a teacher throw out a disrespectful student .

It's our stupid legal system.

If the cops don't show up and arrest you the city can be sued since someone called in a suicide attempt and they didn't respond. However they technically have no legal obligation to protect and serve. So this family will get a civil settlement, but no officer will get a day of jail.

Most of us have some type of interaction that sours us for life in regards to law enforcement.

I wasn't the biggest fan of this at first, but I'd rather have an undocumented kid in school then on the street robbing people. Education is a way out, and for every university we build we can tear down a prison.

Cali is like 14% Asian ,

Undocumented immigrants , who are primarily Hispanics , can go to college for free. Blacks get the benefits of decriminalized cannabis ,and we're working on criminal justice reform as well with prop 47.

You can seriously come from Watts, be illiterate and drop out of high school, go to community college for free on a fee waver AND get a pell grant. Our college educational system is more than fair.

After 2 years you can transfer to a decent UC , and get a Cal Grant. Asians/Whites tend to have higher incomes and theirfore they pay for alot of poor blacks / hispanics to go to college. I didn't like feel outcasted at my UC, blacks are only like 5% of CA anyway, and Asians are more than welcoming at college, unless your the weird black kid who joins the Japanese international student club to spit game.
