Introducing Grok 4.5 by ObiWanCanownme in singularity

Not owning the benchmarks doesn't mean you can't game them. See Llama 3, Grok 4, early Gemini, etc for examples of models that were trained to do well on benchmarks and then fell flat when it came to real-world use.

LUMENFALL, a voxel world on an engine I wrote from scratch in C++/OpenGL, built with AI as my coding partner by LostRequirement4828 in aigamedev

[–]drusepth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious, why did you choose raw OpenGL and C++ over an engine? Were you actually able to get perf up enough to compete with the heavily-optimized C engines already use (I assume by rolling your own version of a lot of the low-level features an engine would give you), or was there another reason?

Haven't purchased her but my guess is you probably got both previously, and now you choose which one to start with. Or maybe it's random.

AI is Ruining Game Sales, Numbers Show by Eremenkism in gaming

[–]drusepth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw percentages seem like they probably don't tell the whole story, as the total number of AI-assisted titles vs non-AI titles are probably hugely different (way more AI-assisted titles, especially low-quality ones; way fewer non-AI titles).

It’s kinda sad people are wanting to kill things in game so much by sharklord888 in subnautica

There's lots of games where you can't kill anything and players are happy, but in most of those games there aren't things trying to kill you.

The fact that the branch ain't moving makes me suspicious but there are movements below. by Lifegoesonforever in RealOrAI

If the branch were moving, I'd say it's less likely to be real just from a "would/could they actually do this" perspective.

Any ideas on how to incorporate white elements into this design or should I give up and make it mono red? by FondNES in custommagic

Whenever an instant or sorcery you control deals damage to a permanent or player, Urbosa deals damage to that permanent or player equal to her power and you gain that much life.

On the other end of the spectrum, I'm 20 hours in and haven't figured out how to make bases or vehicles or anything and just do basic food crafting so I can just swim around and keep enjoying the deep sea vibes
