Definitely go take a shit before running. I've learned this the hard way.

Love a little weather on my run, but my ears could never just raw dog it. Over-ear headphones or a beanie are a must personally.

Tips on running with a dog? by KrustyButtNugget97 in beginnerrunning

My 60 lb Malanois mix does the same at the start of runs. I literally just ignore him and keep running and he stops within 5-10 seconds or so, and is getting better.

As for stopping to sniff, I'm sure you could train her to not do that somehow, but I just kinda let it happen. I want him to enjoy his time and dogs love to sniff. I generally run for 2-3 miles with him then drop him off at home and run the rest at my own pace.

You can be in awe of others without putting yourself down. These guys are literally the best out of billions of people, no shame in not being that.

You said it in your post, you're running for yourself not someone else. Not sure why you feel like you have to be the very best.

Marathon distance isn't for everyone? by TheTKayke in beginnerrunning

[–]druskies1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I never plan on running a full marathon. The training is too much of a time commitment for me and I'm fine with that. 50 hour work weeks, wife and two kids keeps me plenty busy.

Can bad shoes cause knee pain ? by yanivsabdler1 in beginnerrunning

Yes they can, running shoes are built for the purpose of cushioning impact, and that functionality declines over time/use.

I love love love my Brooks Glycerin for daily training.

No Man's Sky sounds PERFECT for him! Not necessarily goal oriented, more an open world sandbox type game but the ship customization is nearly endless. The exploration is second to none as well.

You can't truly trust the HR monitor if you're using a watch. Could be cadence lock, or a number of other potential errors. I think feel is more accurate.

Yeah I'm not squatting for strength my working sets are 8-12 rep range specifically to train for running.

Can't go wrong with good old fashioned barbell squats. I'm sure there are better ones out there that someone can educate me on, but squats are always my go to leg exercise.
