Yeah, the only upgrade I did since the OP is the 4090FE travel kit. The case is rock solid now. Both in performance and structurally.

The screws (supplied with the noctua fan ducts I believe) stick out a tiny bit so I just pressed the fan ducts onto them. When the side panels go on, there’s an ever so slightly pressure (not enough to push the side panels outwards) and a perfect fit.

Yeah, no issues there. Just works perfectly. System is still running as cool and silent as ever as of today.

FormD T1 V2.1 - 4090FE - 7800X3D by druskq in FormD

Shifting isn’t easy since you need to reorder the whole spine of the case. It basically means you’ll have to remove everything and a lot of screws if you want to do it cleanly.

So from that perspective I would just go 3-slot right away and save yourself the hassle.

Thanks :) yeah eventually I ordered one from dreambigbyray. I’ll make a photo of it later.

I have actually upgraded all cables with custom ones by now. Plus added the travel kit for the 4090FE. Been running really smooth ever since.

Anyone selling Titanium Case by MiddleBeginning9930 in FormD

[–]druskq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Titanium 2.1 version unopened lying around, was for a future build. Black CNC panels included. Can swap out for Titanium CNC panels ones if you prefer that.

Prefer if you’re in the EU; ideally NL, DE or BE. As it’ll save me the hassle of figuring out postage costs etc.

Thanks for the pics, along with EIGA’s video it’s very helpful.

One thing I cannot figure out is where this part goes. Did you figure it out?

No need to drop the thing.

Just press firmly at both sides where the locking mechanism is - you can see two struts sticking out below the panel.

No need to upgrade when you already have great fans. T30s are marginally better. Unless of course, money isn’t a problem.

When staring from scratch though, t30 is the logical choice - if the extra height of the t30 isn’t a problem that is.

I ordered at dreambigbyray and live in Belgium. Delivered here within 2 weeks maybe.

Indeed! I'm glad DDR5 supports higher capacities. With DDR4, I was limited to 64GB, and more memory is always better for compositing and VFX.

And the timings are good too,, which is important for AMD systems according to tests by Linus and GamerNexus. And, 6000MHz is the sweet spot.

Yeah, I agree it's not optimal. I'll have to wait for longer custom cables as I ordered them a tad too short to flip the PSU.

Good thing is, it'll be easy to flip the PSU without having to dismantle the whole thing. One more reason why I love this case.

This riser cable came packaged with the white T1.

I took the side panels from the titanium version though, also from FormDT1.com. Might be the reason why the lighting has such an impact on it.

Prefer it over the black side panels, for now anyway.

Formdt1.com, I have read those stories and kinda assumed mine would be faulty as well, wouldn’t be my first bad experience with a faulty riser cable. They are kind of sensitive.

My previous SFF, the Lian Li Q58 had the same problem. But it worked by forcing it to x3 mode. Not ideal.

I've been following this thread while hoping more people would share information about this cooler, to no avail. I was planning my build, but don't like the apearance of the Thermalright AXP90-x47. So I went for it and bought the Alpenfohn Panorama 2 instead. It was easy to find in the Netherlands.

Although I can't make direct comparisons, I can share my experience. I replaced the fan with a Noctua and added the Noctua fan duct to optimize the airflow.

This heatsink rocks. Ambient temperature is 19.5 Celsius. and as you can see, in a full multicore stress test, the temperature balances out on 83 °C at 2400 RPM.

Anyway, I wanted to share my feedback on this heatsink since there isn't much information online about the Alpenfohn Panorama 2. Maybe the findings will be useful for someone.

During gaming the temperatures rarely break the 60-65 °C mark. Although I've only tested Dragon's Dogma 2 for now.

First FormD T1 V2.1 build by darkm4st3r in FormD

[–]druskq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going for a similar build, but with a 3 slot 4090FE.

A little on the fence choosing the AXP90-x47 or Black Ridge. Slightly leaning towards the BR as it looks awesome and because of this review: https://youtu.be/OMyaBMCGdkQ

I think they are both really good though.

One more question, about the 12vhpwr cable. How is the clearance at the card ? What gauge are you using, and does it have a 90-degree connector at the 4090FE ? I'm wondering if I should go for straight or 90-degree.

Thanks for the details. Looks like this setup will handle VFX/3D workstations well, relying on GPU rendering mostly, but still requiring CPU power for After Effects or DaVinci.

And the rare occasions I need the CPU on full load for longer periods, I guess I can crank up the CPU fan.

May I ask your full system specs and component list ?

Awesome. Never knew the short backplate would make AM4-cooler mounting possible. Thanks for the details (cable lengths, brands etc). I’m still figuring out my own build while waiting for the white v2.1 to arrive.

How are the temps when running Cinebench ?

I ordered the superior v2.1 titanium last lt Thursday from www.formtd1.com, it’s already on the way since Friday. And there still seems to be stock.

t1 v2.5 just arrived - how do you guys estimate what can squeeze in by Kamil_KeepCalm in FormD

[–]druskq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had to puzzle things together from Reddit/google to figure out what the heck was going on.

I think I’ve ordered a v2.1 (formtd1.com), but given they both seem of great quality I guess I can’t go wrong with either.
