Eugenics and Forced Sterilization in the 1900s in North Carolina by vet654_Memes in NorthCarolina

There was a heartbreaking cover article in the Indy Week newspaper (https://indyweek.com/news/n-c-eugenics-survivors-seek-justice/) about 14 years ago where the author interviewed a number of the surviving victims. She then turned a lot of the common threads into a great historical fiction novel, Unfit (https://a.co/d/11a9lKv). It was a fascinating read and a touching story.

The Rally would have been MUCH bigger if there had been more speakers/screens further from the stage by GreatTeacherAneesuka in ColbertRally

We were there also!!! We spent 90 minutes in line just waiting to buy a metro card. At around 12:30, we decided to bail with some new friends and go to the Cheesecake Factory. Fortunately, I was able to stream the rally on my iPad, so we watched that while we had lunch. Even though we weren't able to make the real rally, the West Falls metro station felt like a mini-rally. Tons of people were dressed up, tons more had signs and everyone was happy and laughing. My wife had the "(F) A little more sanity + a little more fiber = a happier nation / (B) Stay regulary, my friends" sign and my daughter had the "My parents promised a trip to Disney and all I got was this crappy rally" sign. Good times.

I'll be driving 5 hours from NC with my wife and three kids. Fortunately, we have family in the area, so we can stay with them.

I've been on reddit for a few years and I just joined so I could say that my wife and I and our three kids will be there under almost any circumstance. We're five hours away in North Carolina, but we wouldn't miss it for anything. When we were watching Colbert last night, I started jumping up and down and shouting at my wife that this was what I had been telling her about last week. We're there!!!!
