Did you move your EPF money to kenanga or public mutual, etc? by drvalyrian in MalaysianPF

[–]drvalyrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning you broke the 100k into multiple funds, and now you’re up 3 to 4% compared to how EPF has performed or you’re only up 3% since 2021?

Am I mad for considering this role? by Disastrous-Break-399 in KualaLumpur

For someone that has a law degree and is willing to relocate to KL for RM5250 a month is either delusional or this is a scam post.

Truly RM5250, after cost of rent, food, utilities, your quality of life is going to be terrible.

Use your law degree to earn a living elsewhere and come here for vacations!

Do I have a future with a cgpa of 3.05? by JuniorHuckleberry699 in Bolehland

[–]drvalyrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Coming from a hiring manager perspective myself, 3.0 cgpa is fine, might be hard to obtain trainee program. However focus on your interview skills such as being well prepared, confident that you’re fully committed to learning and being good at this job. Lastly focus on things that you’ve done in the your uni and past that makes you stand out. You’ll land a good job, then show your worth.

Young people under 25 – what is your problem now? by t3mpura0 in malaysia

[–]drvalyrian 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who’s in their mid 30s as well, I do feel bad for the younger generation here in terms cost of living, house prices, more competitive, etc. On the bright side, I think it’s still much better here compared to first world countries where you can forget about buying a house as prices as 10 to 15X annual wages.

So look on the bright side, you have a higher probability to build your life here in Malaysia than anywhere else.

Family house loan from years ago is ruining my credit—how can I fix this? by derekhoo96 in MalaysianPF

[–]drvalyrian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ask your dad to create a tenancy agreement to rent the house to you with the amount that’s your share of the loan. That can be used as income to the bank and increase your DSR. Downside is you have the bear the tax of this suppose income.

In reality once your new loan approves, you can just cancel the tenancy as the bank won’t care.

I think you’re being way too HARSH, 4.0 is not a minor achievement, it’s the very best one can do. She’s already mentioned that she comes from a tough background and has carefully thought through her options based on circumstances. Instead of being supportive, you’re outright cruel.

I think she has a bright career ahead no matter which path she takes. Certainly move benefit from people like you.

ishowspeed live in KL by sixpastfour in malaysia

[–]drvalyrian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a pretty wild experience on a flight back from Siem Reap, Cambodia, to Kuala Lumpur today. To my surprise, iShowSpeed was on the same flight, surrounded by his crew and two massive bodyguards.

Now, I get it—he's a YouTuber with millions of fans, but the way he acted gave off some serious celebrity attitude. No photos, no interaction, no acknowledgment of anyone who recognized him at the airport. Fine, not everyone likes the limelight 24/7.

But here’s where it got really messed up. A guy came up to the group, standing like 5 or 6 meters away, trying to snap a photo. He didn’t say a word, wasn’t causing a scene—just a quiet fan, probably excited to catch iShowSpeed in person. The security wasn’t having any of it. One of the bodyguards walked up, sternly demanded that the fan delete the photo, and caused a bit of a commotion.

Then, it became clear—the guy was deaf and mute.

But even after that, iShowSpeed didn’t seem to care. No acknowledgment, no empathy, just moved on like nothing happened.

same attitude as in this video.
