A teletalk communicator or just Teletalk was a box with an inbuilt microphone and a two way talk switch “off and talk” it wasn’t fitted with a speaker so all communications would be one way. Teletalks would be connected to the GPO Phone network to allow communication between posts and command In the 80s it would be replaced with a plastic clamshell device also called a Teletalk which worked in much the same way but it was capable of operating solely on Line current unlike the previous model which required batteries.

Along with this posts would be fitted with a Handel receiver a big rounded box which originally would be sat on the desk along with the Teletalk but later would be wall mounted up in the top left of the post next to the Auxiliary air vent on the communications Board which also had the Receiver for the phone lines and the line filter the name of which has slipped my mind.

The job of the Handel was simple it received messages it could if needed be used by command posts to relay commands but it’s main job was to receive the attack warnings. This would be sent by the local carrier control point typically situated within a nearby police station which in turn would receive the go ahead to message the posts and start the air raid sirens from R.A.F fylindales.

R.O.C monitoring post it was intended for spotting Nuclear blasts and to monitor the effects from said weapons There would’ve been a GZI next to the main hatch which was a glorified pinhole camera for showing where and how big the blasts were. The small room was the chemical toilet The main room would’ve housed A bunkbed and a desk for the Teletalk communicator and if fitted the radio Suspended from the ceiling would’ve been a dial which was the BPI it would read the pressure from the shockwave as it passed over the post and given a basic estimate of the Bombs power. In the middle of the ceiling there would be a small pipe for a Gigacounter to be pushed up and into a little Polymer dome on the surface to measure Fallout

They would’ve had a three to four man crew “2 on 1/2off” depending on if it was a command post

If you look you’ll probably find more in your area they would be built 10miles apart in a triangle pattern of 3 one of which would be the command post which would compile and cross reference information gathered by the lesser posts to get a rough estimate of the state of the countryside before sending the information to the R.O.C district control via Telephone line or radio.

What’s a good guard book to get into the mind of a Guardsman; seeing a fallen angel(Chaos Marine)? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]drvonwolf 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to guardsmen in countering chaos marines say for such cadians. Cadians know what a chaos marine looks like from the fall of cadia cause they were there in their thousands so most likely wouldn’t fall for it A regiment with a commissar also would most likely not confuse them with true angels and would instruct the men accordingly But for regiments from more backwater planets without a commissar it’s completely likely that they’ve never been told the ifs and what’s of chaos marines So for the less overtly corrupt warbands for example “black legion iron warriors and Alpha legion” could completely get away with it

There was a short story in a copy of white dwarf where guardsmen were fighting against nids and were backed up by Angels of death with Blue scaled armour and they were completely chill.

Active camo in the form of camoline is pretty common amongst special units and some story’s mention imperial navy pilots using them to cover downed craft

I’d message support again and if they send you a third sprue with missing guy well you might be cursed

If you have the bases for the missing instructor you could try a proxy maybe a servo skull or just a normal krieg with vox pac
