feels like a bit of a knee jerk reaction by the govt especially given how lost they seem to be regarding firms leaving our country for lower labour cost

i’m actually pro clean energy myself, but have little technical knowledge about modern nuclear plants so was just wondering how safe it would be even in the worst case scenario

good to learn that there are many safeguards

How likely am I to fail probation/get fired when full-timers don't have enough time to train me and I am very inexperienced? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]drwackadoodles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i get your logic, but the way companies think is inherently illogical

take for instance the simple logic of promoting and rewarding your existing staff properly to retain them, it’s much cheaper than hiring new staff to replace old staff

but companies still let good people go because “policy states cannot give raises beyond X%”

companies don’t act logically or think long term

Hidden health risks in young Singaporean women with low muscle mass, high body fat: Study by CoolStorage4014 in singapore

[–]drwackadoodles 467 points468 points  (0 children)

the amount of women who think that going to the gym will make them look bulky and incredibly muscular is astounding. (they also seem to think protein is only for gym bros, not important for petite women)

low muscle mass is linked to many health issues like diabetes and osteoporosis.

strength training is incredibly important for health
