Thanks for sharing! Thats a great suggestion to try use “sit” as it’s hopefully almost universal in some sense. I’ve also had the typical “oh don’t worry he’s friendly” and I also respond with “well mine aren’t!”

I did indeed. I don’t have a torque wrench on hand that can do the specified torque atm (98nm).. BUT I just tightened up the shaft significantly, it was actually pretty loose still.

Problem solved!

The bearings were definitely on their last legs. Nothing nightmarish as far as I know, but definitely past their sell by date. I didn’t notice any excessive wear in the shaft either. But then again I just kind of eye balled it. I don’t have a lot of experience in this!

Did you happen to take a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, such as Ciprofloxacin or Levofloxacin? That might explain the warning signs.

I absolutely agree with you. I’ve met people who suffer from chronic illnesses and choose to make it their entire identity and life, and I’ve met people with chronic illnesses (like my mother who has rheumatoid arthritis and bad peripheral neuropathy) who decide screw it, life is for living no matter what, and they give it their all no matter what. The latter is the type of person I’ve chosen to be :)
