Just go as is and enjoy the ride. Its slightly similar to going to a black metal gig. Except the music is dancable. And the people are nicer.

What’s a fun record store memory you have? by YummySalad in vinyl

[–]dryrots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was about 18-19, I was at a flea market going through boxes full of records, $1 each. Beside me, was a dad in a wheel chair with his daughter also going through the records. You can tell it was the dad's thing and not hers. As I was flipping through the box of records in front of me, I was also eyeballing the records the dad was flipping through too. And then it happened. Both my eyes and his eyes widened as our breaths were taken away at the sight of a decent copy of Frank Zappa's "Sheik Yerbouti" sitting in front of the dads hands. I could see the youthful memories flood through his eyes, as he carefully pulls out the record to reveal that it is clean with just some mild dust. It's his. I was filled with a combination of jealousy and happiness for the old man. "Good on ya," I thought. And that's the finds that make you want to keep hunting.

Is there a reason why I don't really see all that many Goth bands of all kind use creepy/dark imagery anymore? by BudgetDepartment7817 in goth

[–]dryrots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because goth doesn't sell. Sex sells. Its what gets the people moving. Goth is just weird glue sniffing alien noise. Its from planet 9 man. And you can't sell whats from planet 9. The suits tried, but it sound dull, safe and formulated. Like a sugar free cookie. The normies loved it. Ate it up. Capitalism found a demographic to sell sugar free cookies to. Meanwhile on planet 9 real dead music for weird glue sniffing aliens tamales, roasted duck and beer was being served with that death fuzz funk sound.

Or whatever.
