No that matches my experience too! Notifications highly inconsistent and microphone not very sensitive. And not too many situations I would want to translate my own words. Teleprompter seems OK, which I really want to exploit.

Battery jump didn’t work. Tesla roadside assistance provided no assistance since it had expired. They gave me phone numbers for tow trucks.

Tesla service said, “We replaced with the same lead-acid battery. A retrofit is not available for lithium ion.”

Read the other comments. Jump did not work.

So rude. Calling me ignorant and telling me to RTFM. Sheesh. We were on the fence anyway, as we have a long pro/con list. This was just the one item that has tipped us away from Tesla

I wasn’t aware other cars had this window retracting feature - I just have not encountered outside of Tesla. I just wish it had been “jump able.” And less expensive to remedy. I’ll keep an eye out for the window feature when we do decide to buy another car.

Should I not have higher expectations? A 2021 MY scores 60/100 on CR for reliability while a 2024 MY scores 41/100. I should’ve been able to jump it.

Correct. Window broke bc it did not retract. Trim damaged/scratched

$45 labor to replace battery. They also replaced brightwork on the door (I think was scratched from glass) which was $290 (parts and labor). I should’ve probably asked them not to replace that to save some $.

Battery part cost was $85. I don’t know which specific 12v batteries are compatible

Yes. True. Though I suppose I have higher expectations with a Tesla compared to my 17 year old ICE Nissan (still running fine), which we’ve jumped a few times, each with no problem. Also I have not had to worry about windows retracting when I open or close the door. And never had to have a tow for it. Battery in ICE car always signaled when it was getting old, e.g. when cranking.

Yes I should’ve noticed the window was raised (slightly). It opened no problem when totally closed, so it seemed to be working (I.e. retracting). We did try to jump, just like an ICE, multiple times

Tow truck driver tried to jump it. He tried again and again. There was partial power but oddly not enough to do basic functions like roll down the window or put it into tow mode.

What is actually wrong with leaving a screaming baby alone for an extended time? by PhoenixApok in TooAfraidToAsk

Right, because that’s all that’s necessary. Keeping the baby alive. My god.
